Product description
A glass vial bottle of 100 ml with a black ribbed child-resistant cap is a ready-to-use complete set for tinctures, herbal extracts, tonics, facial oils, serum bases and alcohol-based preparations. The glass vial-shaped bottle has a nominal volume of 100 ml; the black plastic cap has a 18/410 neck finish. Glass does not react with the contents and will not absorb fragrance or colorants. The ribbed cap provides a secure grip even with wet hands, and the child-resistant closure makes accidental opening difficult — useful for contents that should not be freely accessible.
The set is intended for cosmetic products. The glass bottle alone holds a food-contact compliance certificate; the cap does not carry this declaration, so the complete set as a unit is not listed for food use.
Why choose this set
- Glass with no interaction with contents – does not absorb essential oils or solvents, will not alter the scent of the contents, and withstands preparations with a higher alcohol content.
- Child-resistant cap – the closure will not open with an accidental turn, making the set suitable for concentrates, tinctures and preparations you want to protect from unintended opening.
- Matching neck finish – both the bottle and the cap share the same 18/410 neck, so the set seals without searching for a compatible closure.
- Vial shape – a wide, stable base and narrower neck make funnel-filling easier and allow precise pouring drop by drop or in small doses. The name refers only to the shape, not to pharmaceutical use.
- Reusable – the glass can be washed, disinfected and refilled; replace the cap once its sealing surface wears out.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed to hold under normal filling conditions. The total brim-full volume is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides headspace for the cap and for thermal expansion of the contents. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim — overfilling causes spillage when closing and contaminates the cap's sealing surface.
Suitable uses for this set
- Tinctures and alcohol extracts – glass withstands etanol without degradation; the safety cap limits access to the contents.
- Tonics and hydrolats – water-based preparations are dispensed by pouring from the sealed bottle, with no finger contact with the contents.
- Facial and massage oils – 100 ml is a practical size for oil-based preparations, lasting several weeks of use.
- Concentrates and serum bases – preparations intended for further dilution or dispensing in small amounts.
- Samples and test batches – when developing a formulation, the bottle is easy to label and can be reused once emptied.
How to work with the set
Before first filling, wash the bottle with warm water and detergent, rinse, and disinfect with izopropanol or etanol. Leave it to dry completely, preferably neck down, so no water droplets remain in the glass. Wipe the cap with disinfectant solution on the outside and inside, and leave it to dry as well.
Verify the seal with a simple test: fill and close the bottle, lay it on its side on a paper towel and leave it for several hours. If no stain appears, the packaging is suitable for transport as well.
Glass is not designed for sudden temperature changes. If filling with warm contents, allow them to cool to at least lukewarm before filling, and do not fill a bottle taken straight from the refrigerator. The cap made of polyethylene withstands standard cosmetic preparations. With concentrates containing a high proportion of essential oils, we recommend checking the cap seal after extended storage.
Labels are applied to the cylindrical body of the bottle below the shoulder. Labels with a strong adhesive that can withstand oil or alcohol content in the event of accidental overflow adhere well to glass.
The child-resistant cap is a safety feature, not a hermetic seal. This set is not suitable for preparations that release gas during storage, such as fermenting extracts.
If you want to combine the bottle with a different closure, choose closures with the same neck finish as listed in the product specifications. Ready-made combinations of the bottle with a dropper or spray pump are available in the Handymade range. When assembling your own combination, verify the seal, dispensing performance and packaging behaviour with your specific formulation.
Glass goes into glass recycling; unscrew the plastic cap before disposal and sort it with plastics.
