Can this glass bottle be used repeatedly?

Yes, the bottle can be reused if hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, the pack must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol solution, for example using the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. In this way you minimise the risk of microbial contamination and of affecting the stability of the new formulation by residues of the original contents.

How should I properly clean the bottle before refilling?

First remove residues of the original contents by mechanically rinsing with a suitable cleaning medium (e.g. warm water with a mild cleaning agent compatible with the formulation used). Then rinse the bottle thoroughly with clean water, allow it to dry and finally disinfect the inner and outer surfaces with an alcohol solution, for example with the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Before refilling, make sure that all parts are dry and free from any cleaning agent odour.

How can I dispose of or recycle the bottle in an environmentally friendly way if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to reuse the bottle, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste sorting rules. The glass body usually belongs in the glass container, and it is advisable to remove any product residues. The cap is sorted according to the material type specified in the product parameters – most often it is plastic, which belongs in the plastic container. In case of doubt, follow the recycling symbols and the information in the parameter table on the product page on Handymade, as well as local waste sorting instructions.

Is this bottle also suitable for travelling and carrying in a handbag or cosmetic bag?

The compact shape and the safety cap make this bottle a practical pack for travelling as well. When the cap is properly tightened, the risk of accidental opening is reduced; nevertheless, we recommend placing the finished product in a resealable pouch or case during transport. Before using it for travel-size packs, always test the sealing with your specific formulation and check whether any leakage occurs when the bottle remains lying for a longer period or when pressure and temperature conditions change.
