Glass bottle, vial, type B, with white ribbed tamper-evident cap, 100 ml

A ready-to-use glass vial and closure set: a bottle with a nominal volume of 100 ml and a matching white ribbed tamper-evident cap. No need to source a compatible closure or check whether it will seal. The set is designed for liquid cosmetic products poured into the palm or onto a cotton pad: facial and body oils, massage oils, tonics, hydrolats, alcohol tinctures, or liquid serums.

Glass is chemically inert, does not react with the contents, and does not absorb fragrances or colorants. It is therefore suitable for formulations containing essential oils or a higher proportion of alcohol, which can be problematic for certain plastics. The cap seals the bottle with a screw thread, and the tamper-evident ring shows whether the packaging has already been opened — particularly useful for products intended for sale or gifting.

How the set works

The bottle has a narrow neck with an 18/410 screw thread onto which the cap screws down and seats firmly. The ribbed surface of the cap makes it easier to open even with wet or greasy hands.

The tamper-evident ring is the band at the base of the cap. On first opening it separates from the cap and cannot be reattached, so the customer can see the product is intact. After the first opening the cap continues to function normally and seals the bottle reliably — it simply no longer signals an unopened state. If you are filling the packaging for sale, bear in mind that each new unit requires a cap with an intact tamper-evident ring.

The closure cannot be opened one-handed like a flip-top cap and does not dispense drop by drop — the contents are poured from the bottle. The set is therefore suited to products with low to medium viscosity. Thick creams or butters would be difficult to get out through the narrow neck, let alone fill in.

Suitable products

• Facial and body oils – a pure oil or blend with essential oils pours easily from the vial into the palm.
• Massage oils – the 100 ml volume is a practical size for personal use as well as for retail.
• Tonics and hydrolats – water-based products without a spray, applied with a cotton pad.
• Alcohol tinctures and extracts – alcohol does not affect glass, and the screw cap prevents evaporation.
• Liquid serums and oil concentrates – for products where precise dropper dosing is not required.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume is the volume for which the packaging is intended under normal filling conditions — in this case 100 ml. The total brim-full volume is the physical capacity of the bottle up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference between the two is the headspace below the cap: the contents are not forced out when closing, there is room for expansion with temperature changes, and the bottle does not overflow during handling. When filling thicker oils, a funnel with a narrow spout or a dispensing bottle with a tip will help. Do not fill glass with hot contents — a sharp temperature difference between the contents and a cold bottle can damage it. Allow the formulation to cool to room temperature before filling.

What to know before first use

Preparing the packaging. Wash both the bottle and cap before first filling, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the glass could cause cloudiness in an oil-based product or promote microbial growth.

Reuse. Glass withstands repeated washing and disinfection without any change in properties. The plastic cap wears with frequent screwing. If it stops sealing or the thread loosens, replace it with a new one.

Labelling. Labels are applied to the body of the bottle. For oil-based products, grease-resistant labels are recommended; otherwise the adhesive may eventually lift.

Contact with cosmetics and food. The set as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The glass bottle alone holds a food-contact declaration; the cap does not. The set is therefore intended for cosmetics, not for filling food products.

Other closures. The bottle is also compatible with other closures of the same neck type 18/410, such as a dropper for precise serum dosing. Recycling. Once empty, the glass bottle is sorted as glass and the plastic cap separately as plastic.
