Product description

The amber glass jar with a volume of 25 ml is supplied as a ready-made set with a silver glossy lid and an inner liner. Amber glass limits the amount of light reaching the contents, so it suits creams and balms containing vegetable oils, extracts or vitamins, which lose their effectiveness faster in light. The small volume suits eye creams, ointments, concentrated face creams, solid perfumes, lip balms or trial samples for customers. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics.

What the set consists of

  • Glass jar – amber glass with a wide neck, from which the contents are easily scooped with a finger or spatula. The wide neck also makes it easier to fill thicker textures.
  • Plastic lid – a screw lid made of ABS plastic in a silver glossy finish, with an EPE foam seal inside. When tightened firmly, it closes the jar securely and limits air ingress.
  • Inner liner – a thin white disc made of polypropylene (PP), placed directly on the surface of the contents under the lid. During transport it prevents the cream from getting into the thread and the seal, and after opening it protects the surface from impurities.

You therefore do not need to select a closure separately. If you want to combine the jar with a different closure, the Handymade range includes lids with the same neck type as well as ready-made sets. When making your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

What it is suitable for

A volume of 25 ml suits products that are dispensed in small amounts and used up over a longer time:

  • Eye and face creams – concentrated emulsions with a higher proportion of active ingredients, where dark glass slows degradation by light.
  • Anhydrous balms and ointments – butters, wax balms, ointments with oil extracts. The wide neck makes both pouring and later scooping easier.
  • Solid perfumes and lip balms – the small pack matches normal consumption and amber glass protects the fragrance components.
  • Samples and test packs – for customers who want to try a product before buying a larger pack.

With the liner in place, the contents are in contact with the glass and the PP liner. The set is intended for cosmetic products; it is not declared for contact with food.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume of 25 ml is the volume for which the jar is designed under normal filling. The total volume up to the neck is higher. The difference provides a reserve for the inner liner, the lid seal and the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The jar should therefore be filled up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If it is overfilled, the cream is pushed into the thread and the lid does not seal.

Leave hot-poured balms and butters to set in the jar without the lid. Fit the liner and the lid only after the contents have cooled completely, otherwise moisture condenses under the lid.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the jar and the lid, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. With water-based emulsions, insufficient drying risks introducing microorganisms into the product. The same procedure applies when reusing the jar. The glass withstands repeated washing and disinfection without any change in appearance; after washing, check the plastic lid and the liner.

Glass is sensitive to sudden changes in temperature. Do not pour a hot mixture into a cold jar taken straight from cold storage. Let the jar warm up to room temperature before filling.

Amber glass protects the contents from light, not from heat. Store products with sensitive ingredients away from direct sun and heat even in this packaging.

For recycling, the jar goes with glass, and the lid and liner go with plastics. Separate them from the glass before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 25 ml amber glass jar protect the contents from light?
Yes, amber glass significantly limits the passage of light to the contents and thus slows the oxidation of vegetable oils, vitamins and fragrance components. It does not protect the contents from heat, so even in this packaging, store cosmetics with sensitive active ingredients in a cooler place away from the sun. For products without sensitive ingredients, dark glass serves mainly a visual purpose.
What is the inner liner in the glass jar for?
The inner liner is placed directly on the surface of the filled cream under the lid. During transport it prevents the contents from getting into the thread and soiling the seal, and it also protects the surface of the product from dust and contact with the lid. After opening, the customer sets it aside or places it back on the contents. It is not essential for anhydrous balms; for emulsions we recommend using it.
How much cream fits into a 25 ml jar?
The jar is normally filled with 25 ml, which is the nominal volume of the packaging. The volume to the brim is higher, but the difference provides a reserve for the inner liner, the lid seal and the expansion of the contents. If it is filled to the brim, the cream is pushed into the thread and the lid stops sealing. For thick textures, fill by weight and take into account the density of your specific recipe.
Can the glass jar with the lid be reused?
Yes, both the glass and the plastic lid can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. Wash the jar in warm water with detergent, rinse it, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely. Check the lid to make sure the EPE foam seal is not damaged or swollen. When refilling, it is better to replace the inner liner with a new one.
Is the 25 ml glass jar with a silver lid suitable for food?
No, the set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics; it is not declared for contact with food. This applies to the jar, the lid and the inner liner. It is suitable for creams, balms, ointments, solid perfumes and cosmetic samples. For homemade food products, choose packaging whose suitability for food contact is stated in its parameters.
