Product description
A plastic bottle with a capacity of 750 ml and a matte black flip-top cap is a set designed for liquid and medium-viscosity cosmetics dispensed directly from the packaging – shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, liquid soaps, or body lotions. The transparent bottle body reveals the colour of the contents and the remaining quantity. The plastic is lightweight and shatterproof, making the packaging suitable for the shower and bathroom where glass would be a hazard. The flip-top cap opens with a single motion and dispenses the contents through the opening in the cap without unscrewing. This is the main reason to choose this set over a standard screw cap.
Why this set
- Dispensing without unscrewing – the flip part of the cap is opened with a thumb, the contents are squeezed or poured through the opening, and the cap closes with a single click. With shower gel or shampoo, this means quick operation even with wet hands.
- 750 ml capacity – a size suitable for family-sized products, high-consumption items, or a larger bathroom supply that does not need refilling every week.
- Transparent bottle – the product's shade, any pearlescent effects, and the fill level are all visible. This also implies a limitation with light-sensitive ingredients, which is discussed below.
- Matte black cap – the subdued surface contrasts with the transparent body and pairs well with both light and dark labels.
- Lightweight and shatterproof packaging – a drop in the shower will not damage the bottle, and the low weight of the packaging does not add unnecessary bulk to shipments of finished products.
What the set is suitable for
It works best with products that flow but do not spray: shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, liquid soaps, body lotions, bath foams, or self-made liquid laundry and cleaning agents. The flip-top cap opening dispenses in a stream, making it suitable for contents applied to the palm or a sponge.
With very thin contents such as tonics or hydrolats, the product pours too freely through the opening and a spray bottle serves better. Conversely, thick creams and butters do not dispense comfortably through the opening; for those, a pump, jar, or wide-neck container is more appropriate.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume of 750 ml is the quantity the bottle is designed to hold under standard filling conditions. The total brim capacity is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides headspace for the cap and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes, for example in a warm shower or during transport. The bottle should be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.
If the product is filled warm, expect the level to drop slightly once it cools. We recommend filling with cooled contents; hot material can deform the plastic and the volume headspace will be preserved.
Working with the packaging
- Before first filling wash both the bottle and cap, sanitise with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water would dilute the product and could compromise preservation.
- Check the seal before shipping: tighten the cap onto the thread, snap it shut and turn the bottle upside down. When sending finished products, it is worth additionally taping the cap or wrapping the bottle in a bag.
- Labels are applied to the rounded body of the bottle. On clear plastic, a transparent label also works well, allowing the contents to show through.
- Reuse is possible after thorough washing and sanitising; with the cap, check that the hinge of the flip-top still clicks firmly into place.
- Recycling – both the bottle and cap are made of plastic and once empty belong in plastic waste; unscrew the cap before disposing.
The transparent bottle does not protect the contents from light. Products containing essential oils, vitamins, or plant extracts sensitive to light should be stored away from direct sunlight, or a dark-coloured packaging should be chosen instead.
Good to know
The set as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The bottle has a separate food-contact certification, but the cap does not, so the set as a whole is not intended for food use and should not be used for home-made syrups or oils.
The cap is made from PP plastic of European origin. The bottle neck type is listed in the parameters; closures with the same neck size and ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing behaviour, and compatibility with the specific formulation.
Plastic reacts to heat, so do not leave the bottle near a heat source and do not fill it with hot material. For products with a higher proportion of alcohol or with concentrated essential oils, it is advisable to conduct a compatibility test in the packaging several weeks before a larger production run.
