Product description
A ready-to-use cosmetic set: a clear round 1000 ml plastic bottle with a white shaped flip top cap on a 28/410 neck. You get packaging that can be filled and dispensed immediately, with no need to search for a matching closure. The bottle is lightweight and drop-resistant, the transparent wall shows the contents and current fill level, and the flip top allows one-handed opening and dispensing.
Thanks to its large volume, the set is particularly suited to products that are used quickly or in larger quantities: shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, body lotions and conditioners, as well as massage and bath preparations. It works well as a family or economy-size pack, a refill bottle for topping up smaller containers, or in a salon or workshop where a larger supply of product needs to be on hand.
Why choose this set
- Bottle and cap as a matched pair – both components share the same neck type, so the set is coordinated and can be used without checking dimensions.
- Transparent wall – you can see the product colour and how much remains; with coloured or layered formulations it also highlights their appearance.
- Flip top dispensing – the cap opens by flipping the lid, the product is dispensed by squeezing the bottle, and clicking the lid closed seals the opening. No need to unscrew the entire cap, which is practical in the shower and when working with wet hands.
- Lightweight and durable packaging – the plastic withstands drops and the damp environment of a bathroom, making it suitable for products used at the sink and in the shower.
- Declared suitability for cosmetics – both the bottle and the cap are suitable for contact with cosmetic products.
What the set is suitable for — and where it falls short
The flip top dispenses best with liquid to medium-viscosity products that flow out with gentle squeezing of the bottle. With very thick creams or balms, dispensing will be laborious and the contents may not be fully expelled; for such textures, jars or pump-closure packaging are more appropriate.
The transparent plastic does not protect the contents from light. Products sensitive to light — for example, formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils, plant extracts prone to colour change, or unstable active ingredients — are better filled into dark packaging or at least stored away from direct sunlight. For standard rinse-off products, a transparent bottle is fully adequate.
The set as a whole is intended for cosmetics. Only the bottle holds a food-contact declaration on its own; the cap does not carry such a declaration, so we do not recommend using the set for food-related purposes.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling conditions. Total brim-full volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference provides a margin for the cap and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes, and also allows the lid to be clicked shut comfortably without forcing product out. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.
Useful information for filling and use
- Preparation before first filling – it is advisable to wash the bottle and cap before use, or sanitise them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow them to dry completely. Residual water could promote microbial growth in the product.
- Filling – for larger volumes, filling is easier with a funnel or filling pump. Allow thick products to settle briefly before filling so that air bubbles can escape and the fill can be measured more accurately.
- Compatibility with contents – prolonged contact with a high proportion of essential oils, concentrated fragrance compounds, or solvents may cause the plastic to soften or change in appearance. For such formulations, we recommend testing the behaviour of the packaging on a trial sample before production filling.
- Leak-tightness during transport – the flip top is a dispensing closure, not a transport closure. When shipping filled bottles, verify leak-tightness with the specific formulation, or temporarily seal the cap opening with tape or place the bottle in a bag.
- Labelling – the rounded shape of the bottle requires a label adapted to the curvature. We recommend applying the label to a dry, degreased surface.
- Reuse – after thorough washing and sanitisation, the bottle can be used again, for example as a refill container for topping up smaller packaging. When changing the type of product, it is important to remove residues of the previous fill from the cap, where they tend to collect.
- Recycling – this is plastic packaging; once emptied and rinsed, it belongs in sorted plastic waste.
If you plan to use a different combination than this set, choose closures with the same neck type as stated in the bottle specifications. Ready-matched packaging and closure combinations are available in the Handymade range; for custom combinations we recommend verifying leak-tightness, dispensing behaviour, and compatibility of the packaging with the specific formulation.
