Product description

Plastic bottle, clear round, black foamer pump, 1000 ml

A ready-to-use set that dispenses thick, stable foam instead of mist: a clear round plastic bottle with a nominal volume of 1000 ml and a black lever-action foamer pump. When the lever is pressed, the liquid inside mixes with air in the pump head and lands on the surface as foam rather than fine droplets. The set is therefore suited for low-viscosity aqueous foaming formulations, from surface and fabric cleaners to pet foam shampoos and hand-wash products in professional settings. The transparent wall shows how much product remains, and the large volume is practical wherever the formulation is consumed quickly.

The pump is made of polypropylene (PP), the bottle of plastic; both components are lightweight and will not shatter if dropped. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. The bottle holds a food-contact certificate on its own; the pump does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic and cleaning formulations, not for food use.

How the foamer works and what to expect from it

Foam is generated mechanically. When the lever is pressed, a dose of liquid is drawn up through a dip tube that reaches the bottom of the bottle, then forced through a fine mesh together with air inside the pump head. Two practical conditions follow:

  • Sufficient surfactants – plain water, hydrosol or a solution without surfactants will not produce foam; only a thin stream will come out of the pump head.
  • Low viscosity – a thick gel or shower gel at its original concentration cannot be drawn up through the dip tube or will clog the mesh. Foaming formulations are therefore designed to be fluid, close to the viscosity of water.

Foam quality depends on the type and amount of surfactants, the alcohol content, and the presence of oil-phase ingredients. Higher levels of alcohol and oils reduce foamability, which is why it should be evaluated on the finished formulation rather than on individual components.

If the formulation produces weak or watery foam, reducing viscosity and increasing the proportion of foaming surfactants will help — pressing the lever harder will not. It is worth testing a small sample directly in this set before filling the entire bottle.

Suitable for formulations such as

  • Foam surface cleaners – bathroom, kitchen, glass, sanitary ware; foam clings to vertical surfaces longer than a liquid spray and does not run off immediately.
  • Upholstery and fabric cleaners – foam is applied precisely, avoiding excessive wetting of the material.
  • Foam shampoos and cleaning products for animals – quick distribution through the coat without excessive water.
  • Foam hand-wash products in large-format packaging – workshops, facilities, salons where a litre-sized bottle is used up quickly.
  • Car care products – foam interior cleaners, wheel cleaners and plastic treatments.

Not suitable for oils, oil serums, thick creams, emulsions or formulations containing solid particles.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed to hold under normal filling conditions. Total brim-full volume is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a margin for the pump dip tube, which takes up some of the space, and for expansion of the contents when temperature changes. The bottle should be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim; an overfilled bottle is harder to close when the pump is screwed on and the contents may leak from the neck.

What is worth knowing before filling

  • Preparation before first use – rinse the bottle, sanitise it with isopropanol or ethanol and allow it to dry completely. Pump the sprayer through with clean water to flush any manufacturing residues from the dip tube and nozzle.
  • Clear plastic offers no light protection – contents sensitive to light (essential oils, certain dyes and active ingredients) will change colour and scent more quickly in a clear bottle. Store the bottle away from direct sunlight, or choose an opaque container for light-sensitive formulations.
  • Plastic and aggressive contents – aqueous and standard alcohol-based solutions are well tolerated by the plastic. With a high proportion of essential oils, solvents or strong degreasers, check over time whether the plastic becomes cloudy, softens or whether the cap seal is affected.
  • Reuse – both the bottle and the sprayer can be washed and refilled. When switching formulations, flush the nozzle thoroughly with water; residues from the previous contents will otherwise affect the foam and scent of the new one.
  • Labelling – the round bottle accepts wraparound or narrower labels; label dimensions can be found in the product parameters. The edge-free shape stays comfortable to hold even in a full one-litre fill.
  • Recycling – before disposal, unscrew the sprayer from the bottle and empty the bottle completely.
  • Other closures – closures with the same neck finish (stated in the parameters) and further ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range; for a custom combination we recommend verifying the seal and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

Solid particles do not belong in a bottle with a foamer pump – undissolved crystals, exfoliant particles, sediment or fibrous plant residues will clog the mesh in the pump head and stop it foaming. Filter formulations with a risk of sediment before filling.

Frequently asked questions

Which formulations are suitable for a 1000 ml plastic bottle with a foamer pump?
Aqueous, fluid formulations with sufficient surfactant content are suitable – foam surface cleaners, upholstery and fabric cleaners, pet foam shampoos or hand-wash products in large-format packaging. The formulation should have a viscosity close to water; thick gels, oils, emulsions and products with particles cannot be processed by the foamer. Higher proportions of alcohol or oils reduce foamability.
Why is the foamer pump on a 1000 ml bottle not producing foam?
The most common cause is a formulation lacking sufficient foaming surfactants, or content that is too thick to be drawn up through the dip tube. Another reason may be a mesh clogged with solid particles or with dried residue from a previous product. Reducing viscosity, increasing the surfactant proportion and priming the pump head with clean water will usually resolve the issue.
Does the clear 1000 ml plastic bottle protect the contents from light?
No, clear plastic does not block light. The advantage is a visible fill level; the disadvantage is faster colour and scent change in light-sensitive formulations, for example those containing essential oils or natural dyes. Store such products out of direct sunlight or use an opaque container; a clear bottle is not a limitation for standard cleaning solutions.
Can the 1000 ml bottle and foamer pump set be washed and reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the pump can be washed and refilled. Rinse the bottle, disinfect with ethanol or isopropanol and allow to dry; prime the pump with clean water until only water without foam comes out of the pump head. Thorough cleaning is especially important when changing formulation, so that residues do not affect the foamability or scent of the new product.
Is the 1000 ml bottle and foamer pump set suitable for food use?
The set as a whole is not approved for contact with food. The bottle holds a food-contact certificate on its own; the foamer pump does not, so the complete assembly is intended for cosmetic and cleaning formulations. Suitability for contact with cosmetics is declared for both components; the declaration of conformity is available on the product page.
