This is a complete set of a transparent round plastic bottle 500 ml and a white moulded flip top cap with a 28/410 neck finish. The bottle and cap are matched to each other, so there is no need to figure out neck compatibility or sealing. Simply fill the container, close it and use. It is particularly suited to liquid to medium-viscosity products dispensed by squeezing the bottle: shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, liquid soaps, body lotions and massage oils.

The transparent wall reveals the contents and their colour, which is an advantage with coloured gels and lotions where product appearance matters. The plastic is lightweight and shatter-resistant, so the set handles daily use in the shower, bathroom and on the production workbench alike.

How to use the set

Fill the bottle with a liquid or medium-viscosity product, screw the cap onto the neck and tighten by hand. The flip top is then opened and closed repeatedly without unscrewing the whole cap. When dispensing, squeeze the bottle; once released, it draws air back in and returns to its original shape.

The ease of dispensing is determined by the consistency of the contents. Thin liquids (tonics, light oils) flow quickly and are dispensed with a short, gentle squeeze. Thick creams and balms are difficult to push through the flip top opening, and squeezing draws air into the product. A jar or pump dispenser is more suitable for those.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume the container is designed for in normal filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity of the bottle up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a margin for the space under the cap and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle is difficult to close and the product will spurt out on the first squeeze.

Suitable for products such as

• Shower gels and liquid soaps – contents are dispensed directly onto the palm or a washcloth.
• Shampoos and conditioners – a standard household-size packaging; the transparent wall shows the colour of the product.
• Body lotions and light emulsions – medium-viscosity emulsions dispense easily; thick creams do not.
• Massage and body oils – oil flows from the opening in a thin stream and dispenses gently. For blends with a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend verifying compatibility with the plastic by a trial fill.
• Stock packaging in production and salon – for transferring into smaller containers or direct use during work.

Good to know

Preparation before first filling. We recommend washing both the bottle and cap before first use, disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing to dry completely. Residual water in the container could compromise the preservation of the product.

Suitability for cosmetics and food. The set as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity and certificate are available with the product. The bottle holds a separate certificate for direct food contact. The cap does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics, not food use.

Plastic and aggressive contents. For formulations with a significant proportion of essential oils, alcohol or solvents, we recommend verifying compatibility with the transparent plastic by a trial fill over several weeks and checking whether the wall has turned opaque, softened or absorbed the scent.

Reuse. The set can be washed and reused once empty, provided the wall is not opaque or deformed and the flip top still snaps firmly. For products with an aqueous phase, the same disinfection as for the first fill is important when refilling.

Labelling. The round bottle has a curved wall, so the label must be sufficiently flexible and adhere without creases. The bottle diameter is listed in the product parameters. We recommend applying the label before filling, onto a dry and degreased surface.

Recycling. Both the bottle and the cap are plastic and, once emptied and rinsed, belong in the sorted plastic waste collection.
