Brown plastic bottle 500 ml

Brown plastic bottle 500 ml is designed for filling and selling liquid cosmetic and food products. The classic cylindrical shape with straight walls and a narrower neck fits comfortably in the hand, labels easily, and stands stably on a shelf.

The brown colouring reduces light penetration to the contents, helping to slow down light-induced changes in fragrance, colour, and active ingredients. PET is lightweight and shatter-resistant, making the bottle suitable for products customers take into the shower, bathroom, or on trips. For shipping larger batches, it significantly reduces package weight compared to glass.

The packaging is suitable for direct food contact, making it appropriate for homemade oils, syrups, vinegars, or herbal extracts. It also meets the requirements for use with cosmetic products. The declaration of conformity is available with the product.

What makes this bottle practical

• Light protection – the brown material reduces the amount of light reaching the contents, which is advantageous for oils, tinctures, and products with sensitive ingredients.
• Low weight and shatter resistance – PET will not break when dropped, and half a litre of contents adds no burden during shipping or everyday use.

Suitable products

The bottle is particularly suitable for liquid and mildly viscous preparations: shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, liquid soaps, body and massage oils, micellar waters, toners in larger formats, or liquid household cleaners. For food use, it is suitable for oils, syrups, vinegars, infusions, or homemade lemonade concentrates.

For thick creams and body butters, a jar or pot with a wide opening is more suitable. Dense contents are difficult to dispense and refill through the narrow neck of a bottle.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is designed for normal filling, and corresponds to the quantity stated on the label. Total brim volume is the physical volume up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference between them is a reserve for the closure, pump, or sprayer that extends into the neck, and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

Closure and neck

The bottle is supplied without a closure. Closures with the same thread type as specified in the parameters, and ready-made bottle + closure combinations, are available in the Handymade range. For custom combinations, we recommend verifying seal integrity, dispensing, and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation, particularly for oily and foaming products.

Preparation before filling and repeated use

Before the first use, we recommend rinsing the new bottle with clean water, disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allowing it to dry completely neck-down. Residual water in a sealed bottle could dilute the contents or promote microbial growth, especially in water-based products with a lower preservative concentration.

The bottle is designed for repeated use, provided it is thoroughly cleaned and dried between fillings. When changing the type of contents, for example from oil-based to water-based, bear in mind that oily residue is more difficult to wash off PET, and traces of fragrance in the plastic may persist.

Good to know

Essential oils and solvents. PET tolerates standard cosmetic emulsions, surfactant systems, and vegetable oils. For products with a high proportion of essential oils, concentrated fragrance compositions, or strong solvents, we recommend testing the bottle's behaviour on a sample beforehand. Some ingredients may cause the plastic to become cloudy or soften over time.

Labelling. Straight cylindrical walls are suitable for standard self-adhesive labels. For products used in the shower, choose durable film labels.

Recycling. PET is one of the most readily recyclable plastics. Return the empty, rinsed bottle to plastic recycling collection.
