Rounded Clear Plastic Bottle, Transparent Spray with Glossy Silver Collar, 200 ml

This is a ready-made set of a transparent PET bottle with a volume of 200 ml and a mechanical spray pump with a silver gloss collar. It is suitable wherever liquid contents are applied in a fine mist – from facial tonics and hydrolats to room fragrances. The clear packaging shows the colour of the contents and the remaining amount. PET is lightweight and does not shatter on impact the way glass does, so the set holds up in the bathroom, in a handbag and in salon use.

The bottle and the spray pump share the same neck size 24/410, so they fit together precisely and the set seals properly. Both the packaging and the closure are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics; the declaration of conformity is available with the product.

How the set dispenses

The spray pump works as a mechanical pump: pressing the head draws the contents through the dip tube from the bottom of the bottle and disperses it into a fine mist. Each press releases a small, consistent amount. This is useful for products where the skin or hair does not need to be saturated, only evenly covered. The head is transparent; the silver gloss collar is made of aluminium and gives the simple packaging a more refined look without affecting function.

The spray pump is designed for liquids with a viscosity close to water – hydrolats, tonics, alcohol solutions and light aqueous solutions of active ingredients. Thicker emulsions, gels or pure oils will either not pass through the nozzle or will come out as drops rather than mist, and the mechanism will clog more quickly. For such products, a closure with a different dispensing method and the same neck size is more suitable; ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range.

Suitable for products such as

• Facial tonics and hydrolats – a fine mist covers the skin evenly without a cotton pad, in which part of the product is otherwise lost.
• Hair sprays and spray conditioners – aqueous or mildly alcoholic solutions that are meant to stay thin and disperse easily through the hair.
• Refreshing body sprays – hydrolat-based or lightly fragranced water sprays applied repeatedly throughout the day.
• Room and fabric fragrances – alcohol solutions of fragrance compositions for curtains, bed linen or interiors.
• Working solutions in production – for example ethanol or isopropyl alcohol (IPA) for disinfecting work surfaces, moulds and tools.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed to hold during standard filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the spray pump, whose dip tube and mechanism take up part of the space, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim – otherwise the contents will overflow the neck when the spray pump is screwed on. Exact values for both volumes are listed in the specifications.

Good to know

The transparent packaging does not protect against light. For light-sensitive ingredients – essential oils, vitamin C, certain plant extracts – expect faster degradation if the bottle stands in sunlight or under strong lighting. Such products are better stored in the dark or in packaging made from a dark material.

The dip tube is supplied with extra length. If it reaches the bottom and bends, it can be trimmed with a sharp knife at an angle so that it ends just above the bottom – the spray pump will then draw up the last remaining contents.

Reuse. Both the bottle and the spray pump can be washed and reused after emptying. When changing the contents, pump water through the sprayer thoroughly so that the previous product does not contaminate the new one – for fragrances, this is the only reliable way to prevent scents from mixing.

Labelling. The round bottle has a smooth area on its circumference for a label. A transparent label also looks good on clear packaging, allowing the contents to show through.

Recycling. The bottle is made of PET and belongs in sorted plastics. Unscrew the spray pump before disposal, as it contains an aluminium collar in addition to plastic.
