Product description
A clear cup with a nominal volume of 100 ml and a black screw cap form a complete set, so you no longer need to look for a closure. The cup is intended for thicker and semi-solid products that are scooped out with fingers or a spatula: creams, body butters, balms, scrubs, masks or bath salts. The colour and texture of the contents are visible through the clear wall, which will be appreciated especially by small producers selling at markets or through an e-shop.
As a whole, the set is approved for direct contact with food and declared suitable for cosmetic products. It is therefore equally suitable for a homemade cream as for herbal salt, spices, honey or dry mixtures. The declaration of conformity and certificates are listed with the product.
What the set consists of
- PET cup – light, unbreakable and transparent. The wide neck allows comfortable filling and scooping of the contents right to the bottom. The low, wide shape stands stably on the shelf and is comfortable to hold in the hand.
- PP cap – a black screw cap with an inner liner of foamed polyethylene, which presses against the neck when tightened and improves sealing. The black colour optically closes off the clear cup and gives it a finished look even without a label on the cap.
- Shared thread – both parts have the same type of neck. Caps with the same neck in a different colour or finish and other ready combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend verifying tightness with the specific formulation.
Suitable for products such as
- Creams and body butters – the wide opening makes it easier to scoop out thick material; the cup suits emulsions as well as anhydrous butters.
- Balms and solid preparations – lip or hand balms, solid deodorants or massage sticks that solidify in the cup after pouring. Let the material cool before pouring, PET is not intended for hot filling.
- Scrubs and salts – sugar or salt scrubs, bath salt, dry masks. The contents are visible through the clear wall, which helps with selection in the shop.
- Dry and food contents – spices, herbal mixtures, honey, dried fruit in small amounts. The set is certified for food contact, so there is no need to buy a separate container.
- Samples and smaller packs – the 100 ml volume serves as a full-fledged pack as well as a larger sample for the customer.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the amount the cup is intended for under normal filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is somewhat larger. The difference forms a reserve for the cap liner, for expansion of the contents with temperature changes and for a clean rim that does not get soiled when closing. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled cup is harder to close and the contents may get onto the thread.
With emulsions and butters, let the material cool to room temperature before closing. Warm contents release water vapour, which condenses under the cap and may collect on the surface of the product.
What is good to know
- Preparation before first filling – we recommend washing the cup and cap, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and letting them dry completely. Moisture under the cap liner shortens the shelf life of water-based products.
- The clear material does not protect against light – with light-sensitive ingredients, for example some vegetable or essential oils, expect shorter stability or choose a dark container. Store the finished product in the clear cup out of direct sunlight.
- PET and heat – the material softens and deforms at higher temperatures. It is not suitable for hot filling or for sterilisation in the oven or boiling water.
- Aggressive chemicals – do not expose the container to aggressive chemicals. For anhydrous preparations with a high proportion of essential oils, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the container with the specific formulation in advance.
- Sealing – the cap liner seals under normal screwing, but it is not intended for liquid contents or for transporting a filled cup lying on its side. For liquids, choose a bottle with a suitable closure.
- Labelling – the smooth side wall of the cup is relatively low, so choose the label according to the dimensions given in the parameters. A round label can be used on the cap, and on the clear cup possibly also a label on the bottom, if you want to leave the side free.
- Reuse – the set can be washed and used again if it is not scratched or deformed. After washing, dry the cap liner well.
- Recycling – the cup is made of PET, the cap of PP. Separate and rinse them before disposal.
The set is not intended for the freezer or the microwave oven. Store it at normal room temperature; when heated, PET deforms and the cap liner may lose its shape.
