White Glass Bottle, Black Gold Dropper, 100 ml

The white glass medicine bottle with a capacity of 100 ml and a black and gold dropper is a ready-made packaging solution for serums, facial and hair oils or tinctures that are dispensed drop by drop. The bottle and the closure have the same 18/410 neck finish, so the dropper fits tightly and there is nothing to buy separately or test.

White opaque glass lets less light through to the contents than clear glass. This makes it suitable for oil blends with essential oils, oils sensitive to oxidation or serums with active ingredients that do not benefit from light. The opaque packaging also gives the product a uniform look regardless of the colour of the contents. The dropper consists of a glass tube, a silicone bulb and a plastic and aluminium head in a black and gold finish. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

The dropper is less suitable for water-based toners or thick emulsions. A thin water-based liquid drips unevenly, and a cream cannot be drawn up through the tube. A sprayer or a pump is a better choice for these products.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume of 100 ml is the amount the medicine bottle is designed for in normal filling. The brimful capacity given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference provides a reserve for the dropper tube, which pushes part of the contents upwards once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill up to the nominal volume, not up to the brim. This applies especially to oils, because an overfilled bottle overflows through the thread after the dropper is fitted and the closure then becomes sticky.

Preparation and reuse

Before the first filling, wash the bottle in warm water with a cleaning product, rinse it, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely with the neck facing down. Treat the glass tube in the same way. Do not soak the silicone bulb in alcohol for long; wiping it is enough. Glass withstands repeated washing, and the medicine bottle can be used several times. When changing the contents, we recommend replacing the dropper, because the scent of the previous contents remains in the bulb.

Good to know

The length of the dropper is matched to the height of this medicine bottle, so the tube reaches almost to the bottom and the contents can be dispensed to the very end. The set is intended for cosmetics. Neither the bottle nor the dropper has a food-contact certificate, so it is not recommended for homemade oils, syrups or other foods.

With concentrated essential oils or blends with a high proportion of solvents, it is a good idea to check the bulb after several weeks. The glass part of the dropper is resistant to them, but the behaviour of silicone with a specific blend is better verified in practice.
