A white plastic bottle with a capacity of 300 ml and a matte silver cap forms a ready-made set for filling body lotions, shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, facial toners or massage oils. The white PET wall lets less light through to the contents than clear plastic, which you will appreciate with formulations containing vegetable oils, essential oils or light-sensitive active ingredients. The bottle is light and unbreakable, so it suits the bathroom, travel and parcels for customers to whom you send your own products.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The bottle alone has a certificate for direct food contact; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics. Declarations of conformity for both components are provided with the product.

How the set works

The bottle has a 24/410 neck finish. The screw cap made of PP and LDPE has a matte silver surface, which looks clean and understated on a white bottle. The contents are dispensed by unscrewing the cap and pouring, so the set suits thinner products: toners, oils, shower gels or thinner body lotions. Thick creams and pastes come out of the narrow neck more slowly. The cap can be replaced at any time with another closure with the same 24/410 neck type; ready-made combinations of this bottle with other closures are available in the Handymade range.

What it is suitable for

• Body lotions and liquid creams – the 300 ml volume corresponds to a standard pack for regular use, and the white bottle gives the product a uniform, neutral look.
• Shampoos, conditioners and shower gels – rinse-off products that are dispensed in larger amounts and where unbreakable packaging is valued in the shower.
• Facial waters and toners – water-based formulations with extracts or hydrosols that should not be left in the light.
• Massage and body oils – blends of vegetable oils, where the white wall slows the effect of light on more sensitive oils.
• Cleansing gels and liquid soaps – with a pump for the same thread, the bottle becomes a dispenser for the sink.

Nominal volume and brimful volume

The 300 ml figure is the nominal volume, i.e. the quantity the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The physical volume up to the neck is larger. The difference serves as a reserve for the cap or pump and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the contents may be pushed out when closing and the sealing is poorer.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the cap, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to dry completely. Residual water in the neck or under the cap could affect the microbial stability of the finished product.

For products with a higher proportion of essential oils, fragrance compositions or solvents, we recommend a test on a single bottle: fill it, close it and after several weeks check the tightness, the shape of the bottle and the fragrance of the contents. The bottle should not be exposed to aggressive chemicals.

After thorough washing and disinfection, the bottle can be reused; with each new filling, check the thread and the sealing surface of the cap. An emptied PET bottle belongs in plastic recycling, and the cap is sorted with it.
