Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly mechanically cleaned, rinsed and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol preparation, for example using the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only after complete drying is the vial ready for new use.

How should I properly clean the bottle before first use?

Before the first filling, we recommend washing the glass bottle in warm water with a suitable cleaning agent, rinsing thoroughly with drinking water and allowing it to dry. Subsequently, it is advisable to spray or rinse the inner and outer surface with an alcohol disinfectant, for example with IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol 96 %. This increases hygiene safety when in contact with sensitive cosmetic preparations.

How can I safely recycle the glass vial and aluminium cap if I no longer plan to use it?

If you do not want to continue reusing the packaging, we recommend recycling it after emptying and basic rinsing according to the type of material specified in the product parameters. The glass part of the vial can usually be placed in the container intended for glass and the metal screw cap in the container for metals, or in the combined collection of metal packaging, if such is offered by your collection system. Always follow the local waste sorting rules and the information in the parameter table at the product on Handymade.sk.

Is this vial also suitable for products containing alcohol or active substances?

Glass is a stable and resistant material that is generally suitable for formulations containing alcohol and various active substances. However, when producing your own products, it is always important to verify the compatibility of the specific recipe with the packaging by a test in a small trial batch. We recommend monitoring any changes in colour, fragrance, viscosity or sedimentation and accordingly fine-tuning the composition or choosing another type of packaging.
