For disinfection we recommend using a suitable alcohol solution, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based. This minimises the risk of microbial contamination and of transfer of scents or colours between different formulations.

Before first use, we recommend rinsing the bottle with a suitable cleaning agent, rinsing thoroughly with drinking or demineralised water and allowing it to dry completely. It is then necessary to disinfect the packaging with alcohol, for example using the product IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based. For repeated use, follow the same procedure and always make sure that no residues of the original product or cleaning agents remain inside, so that they do not affect the quality of the new fill.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, it is advisable to recycle it responsibly. After cleaning off any product residues, place the glass part of the bottle into the sorted glass waste according to the local waste-sorting rules. The dropper, which is a combination of several materials (plastic, rubber, possibly metal), generally needs to be disposed of in municipal waste, unless the local system allows another method of sorting. When recycling, always follow the information about the material given in the product parameters on the Handymade website and the local recommendations for waste sorting.
