Amber Plastic Bottle, Black Pump, 200 ml

A brown plastic bottle with a black pump dispenser is a ready-made set for liquid cosmetics dispensed by pressing: body lotions, liquid soaps, shampoos, conditioners, facial cleansing gels or light emulsions. The bottle has a nominal volume of 200 ml and connects to the dispenser via a 24/410 thread. The brown tint filters light, helping to protect contents sensitive to sunlight, such as formulations containing vegetable oils, extracts or vitamins.

The bottle is made of PET, is lightweight and shatter-resistant, making it suitable for the bathroom, shower and travel. The dispenser is made of polypropylene and delivers approximately 1 ml per press. Dispensing is precise and hygienic, with no hand contact with the product inside the bottle. The complete set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

Nominal and total volume

When filling, it is worth distinguishing between two figures. The nominal volume is the quantity for which the bottle is designed for normal filling and which is stated on the label. The total brim-full volume is the physical capacity of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them provides space for the dip tube and pump mechanism, and for slight expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Overfilling would cause the contents to be pushed out from the neck when the pump is screwed on, risking leakage at the thread.

Using the set

The dispenser works reliably with liquid to medium-viscosity formulations. Suitable products include body lotions, light and medium O/W creams, liquid soaps, shampoos, conditioners, cleansing gels, facial emulsions and vegetable oils for massage. Very thick creams, butters and products with larger particles, such as scrubs, will not pass through the dip tube and valve, or will clog it. For these textures, a jar or tube is more suitable.

PET is resistant to common cosmetic oils. However, concentrated essential oils, strong solvents and aggressive chemicals can damage or cloud the plastic. Finished cosmetics with a standard proportion of essential oils do not present a problem; undiluted essential oils do not belong in this container.

What is good to know

Before first filling, we recommend washing the bottle and dispenser, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing them to dry completely. The dispenser is disinfected by pumping a small amount of alcohol through it, followed by pumping air until the mechanism is dry. Residual water in the dip tube could reduce the microbial stability of a product with weaker preservation.

The set can be reused. When changing the contents, wash the bottle with warm water and detergent, rinse and disinfect again. Boiling water is not suitable, as PET softens and deforms at high temperatures. The dispenser is rinsed by pumping clean water through until only clean water comes out. Dried residue in the mechanism can be loosened by briefly soaking the dispenser in warm water.

The bottle body serves as the label surface. Both the PET bottle and the PP dispenser can be placed in sorted plastic waste. Before disposal, unscrew the dispenser from the bottle, as they are made of two different plastics.

The food-contact certificate applies to the dispenser only. The bottle does not hold this certificate, so the complete set is intended for cosmetics, not food.
