Product description
Brown plastic bottle with a plastic pump dispenser, 200 ml, is a ready-to-fill set for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic preparations that need to be dispensed in small measured amounts. The black-and-gold pump with a 24/410 neck finish seals the bottle and releases the same dose with each press, without unscrewing the cap and without the fingers touching the contents. The brown PET bottle limits light exposure to the contents and is lightweight and shatterproof.
The set is particularly suitable for body and face lotions, liquid soaps, shower gels, shampoos and conditioners of thinner consistency, light facial and massage oils, serums and moisturising facial waters. The bottle-and-dispenser combination is declared as suitable for use with cosmetic products; a declaration of conformity is available with the product.
Why choose this set
- Light protection – the brown bottle limits light exposure to the contents, which is valuable for formulations with vegetable oils, essential oils, vitamins and other ingredients susceptible to oxidation.
- Hygienic dispensing – the dispenser draws the contents without opening the bottle, preventing air and hand contamination from reaching the product, which benefits the stability of preserved water-based formulations.
- The same dose with every press – one press releases approximately 1 ml of product, making it easy to estimate consumption and preventing spills.
- Lightweight and durable packaging – PET will not shatter if dropped and is significantly lighter than glass, making it easier to ship and handle in the bathroom.
- Neat appearance without additional finishing – the brown bottle with a black-and-gold dispenser looks cohesive even without a label.
Nominal and total volume
For every container, we distinguish two volumes. The nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is intended for normal filling and which is stated on the label. The total brim-full volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference between them provides a reserve for the dip tube and the dispenser mechanism and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Both values can be found in the product specifications.
Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If filled up to the neck, part of the contents will be pushed out when screwing on the dispenser and the product will remain between the thread and the neck, where it dries out and becomes sticky.
Practical use
The dispenser works reliably with products of liquid to medium-thick consistency – with lotions, gels, liquid soaps and oils. Thick creams, butters and formulations with a high proportion of wax will not be drawn up by the dispenser or will clog during pressing; for those, a jar or pot is more suitable. With your own formulation, we recommend filling one piece as a test and checking whether the product dispenses smoothly, whether the pump head clogs after a few days, and whether the contents react with the packaging material.
The dispenser dip tube reaches all the way to the bottom of the bottle, so the contents are drawn out almost completely. The last residue that the tube cannot reach can be removed after unscrewing the dispenser. When screwing it in, make sure the tube is straight and does not kink against the bottle wall.
PET handles water-based formulations, emulsions and common vegetable oils well. With a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol or other solvents, the behaviour of the plastic varies depending on the specific blend, so verify their compatibility with the packaging in the finished formulation before filling the entire batch.
Do not fill the bottle with hot contents. PET is not designed for high temperatures and could deform, so allow emulsions and gels to cool before filling.
Good to know
- Preparation before first filling – wash both the bottle and dispenser before use, disinfect the inside with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to dry completely. Flush the dispenser with several presses in clean water, then in a disinfectant solution.
- First use – press the dispenser head several times until the dip tube draws up the product. When transporting the finished product, secure the head against accidental pressing.
- Reuse – the set can be washed and refilled after emptying. Rinse the tube and dispenser mechanism thoroughly so that no residue from the previous product remains.
- Caps and combinations – caps with the same neck type and other ready-made bottle-and-closure combinations can be found in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, verify the seal, dispensing and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.
- Labelling – the cylindrical shape of the bottle makes applying a label straightforward.
- Food contact – the set is intended for cosmetics. Neither the bottle nor the dispenser has certification for direct food contact, so do not use it for oils, syrups or other food products.
- Recycling – the bottle is made from PET and belongs in sorted plastic waste. The dispenser combines plastic and aluminium, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.
