Product description

Brown plastic bottle with plastic sprayer, 200 ml is a ready-made container for facial toners, hydrosols, refreshing and setting mists, hair sprays or alcohol-based hand solutions. The set consists of a brown PET bottle and a black sprayer with a ribbed collar, both parts with a 24/410 neck. The brown tint reduces the amount of light reaching the contents, PET is lightweight and will not break if dropped, and the sprayer dispenses the contents as a fine mist without opening the bottle.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products and is intended for cosmetics. The declaration of conformity for both the bottle and the sprayer can be found with the product.

Why this particular combination

  • Light reduction – brown PET lets through less light than clear plastic. This helps with contents containing plant extracts, hydrosols or essential oils, which change their scent or colour faster in light. It does not provide complete protection, so store the container out of direct sunlight.
  • Hygienic dispensing – the contents leave the bottle only through the sprayer. You do not reach into the bottle with your fingers or pour from it, which reduces the risk of contaminating water-based products.
  • Lightweight and durable container – the PET bottle weighs a fraction of glass of the same volume. It is suitable for the bathroom, a handbag and for shipping to customers.
  • Comfortable handling – the ribbed collar of the sprayer is easy to grip even with a wet hand when tightening and unscrewing.
  • Practical volume – 200 ml is a common size for toners, hair sprays and body mists, which are used daily and in larger amounts than a serum.

What the set is and is not suitable for

The sprayer works reliably with contents of a water-like consistency: toners, hydrosols, facial and body mists, thin hair sprays, alcohol-based solutions (hand sanitiser sprays, textile fresheners), herbal infusions for cosmetic use or thin gel sprays.

The sprayer is not intended for oils, thick serums or emulsions of a creamy consistency. Viscous contents will not atomise, they remain in the nozzle and the mechanism quickly clogs. For oils and thicker products choose a pump with the same type of neck.

For contents with a high proportion of essential oils or with strong solvents we recommend a single-unit test before larger-scale production. The plastic may soften, discolour or take on a scent after prolonged contact.

Nominal and total volume

The bottle has a nominal volume of 200 ml, meaning the amount it is intended for in normal filling. The total volume to the brim is larger and can be found in the parameters. The difference provides a reserve for the tube and body of the sprayer, which take up part of the space once screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. It is therefore filled up to the nominal volume, not up to the neck. An overfilled bottle will overflow once the sprayer is fitted and will seal less well.

Working with the set

Before first filling, rinse both the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect them if needed with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let them dry completely. Tighten the sprayer by hand firmly but without force. The thread seals by seating on the neck, and over-tightening is more likely to damage it.

The sprayer tube is longer than the height of the bottle. Before first use, shorten it with a diagonal cut so that it ends just above the bottom. The diagonal cut prevents the tube from sticking to the bottom and ceasing to draw. An unshortened tube bends inside the bottle and part of the contents remains unused.

After filling, press the sprayer several times with no load until the tube and pump fill and the spray is even. The set is suitable for repeated use: after emptying, wash it, rinse the sprayer with clean water and let it dry.

Good to know

  • Other closures – the sprayer can be replaced with any closure with the same 24/410 neck type; ready-made combinations of the bottle with closures can be found in the range. With your own combination, verify the tightness and dispensing with the specific formulation.
  • Heat – PET is filled cold or after the product has cooled to room temperature. A hot fill will deform the bottle.
  • Transport – when shipping, tighten the set and pack it so that the sprayer head is not pressed, or tape it over.
  • Recycling – the bottle is made of PET, the sprayer of PP. Before disposal, separate them and sort each as plastic according to the material code on the packaging.

Frequently asked questions

Does a brown plastic bottle protect the contents from light as well as brown glass?
A brown PET bottle reduces light, but it does not provide complete protection of the contents. For toners, hydrosols and mists with normal consumption, light reduction is sufficient, especially if the container is stored out of direct sunlight. For contents that are extremely sensitive to light, brown glass is the safer choice, at the cost of higher weight and fragility.
Can an oil or oil serum be filled into a plastic bottle with a sprayer?
No, the sprayer is intended for thin, water-based contents. Oils and thick serums will not atomise into a fine mist, they remain in the nozzle and the mechanism clogs. The bottle itself can hold oil, but for dispensing oils choose a pump with a 24/410 neck.
Is a brown plastic bottle with a sprayer suitable for alcohol-based hand sanitiser sprays?
Yes, thin alcohol-based solutions are among the contents the sprayer is intended for, and they spray evenly. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils or with strong solvents we recommend a single-unit test first, because concentrated essential oils may soften or discolour the plastic over time.
How much actually fits into a 200 ml plastic bottle with a sprayer?
It is filled up to the nominal volume of 200 ml, not up to the brim. Once the sprayer is screwed on, its body and tube submerge into the contents and the level rises, so the container needs a reserve above the nominal volume. The exact total volume to the brim is stated in the parameters. An overfilled bottle will overflow and seal less well.
How is a plastic bottle with a sprayer cleaned and can it be reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the sprayer can be washed after emptying and used again. Just rinse the bottle with water, disinfect it with ethanol if needed and let it dry. Immerse the sprayer tube in clean water and spray several times to flush product residues out of the nozzle. Then let it dry with no load.
