Product description
This is a complete set of a blue plastic bottle with a nominal volume of 200 ml and a black disc top cap, ready for direct filling. It is intended for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products that are dispensed by squeezing the bottle. The bottle is made of PET, it is light and shatter-resistant, so it is suitable for the bathroom as well as for travel. The blue colour partially shields the contents from light and gives the product a uniform appearance.
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The bottle alone holds a separate certification for direct contact with food. The set with the disc top cap as a whole is intended for cosmetic products.
How the set works
- Disc top cap – it opens by pressing one side of the disc, which uncovers a small dispensing hole. The contents flow out when the bottle is squeezed. After use, the disc is pressed back and the hole is closed. You can dispense with one hand, for example in the shower.
- PET bottle – the wall is flexible enough for squeeze dispensing and returns to its original shape once released. The low weight is an advantage when shipping products.
- Blue colour – it reduces the access of light to the contents, but it is not an opaque container.
- 24/410 neck – a standard thread type. If needed, the disc top cap can be swapped for another cap with the same neck type.
Suitable for products such as
The disc top cap works best with products of low to medium viscosity that can be easily squeezed out of the bottle but do not flow out on their own. These are typically shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, liquid soaps, body lotions and lighter emulsions, body and massage oils, or make-up removers and cleansing gels.
With very thin products (toners, hydrosols, micellar waters) dispensing through the disc top is less controlled, and a spray or a pump is more suitable. Thick creams and butters, on the other hand, are hard to squeeze through the small hole and are better suited to a jar or a tub.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is intended for under normal filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the cap and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Thanks to it, the bottle can be squeezed after filling without leaking. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.
When pouring, leave free space below the neck. A bottle filled to the brim „overflows“ when first squeezed or when the cap is screwed on, and the contents get into the thread, where over time they dry up and hinder the opening of the disc.
Good to know
- Preparation before first filling – we recommend washing the bottle and the cap, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and letting them dry completely. The disc top has a small channel inside, so let it dry thoroughly before fitting.
- Temperature of the contents – PET is not intended for hot filling. Fill emulsions and gels only after they have cooled to room temperature, otherwise the bottle may deform.
- Anhydrous and alcohol-based products – PET copes well with common vegetable oils as well as aqueous and emulsion formulations. For products with a higher proportion of essential oils, alcohol or solvents, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the container with the specific formulation (cloudiness, softening of the wall, odour).
- Tightness during transport – the disc top is a dispensing cap, not a transport one. When shipping products, check that the disc is pressed down, and for thin contents consider a protective seal or transport in an upright position.
- Reuse – the bottle and the cap can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. When changing the contents (for example from oil to gel), wash the thread and the channel of the cap especially thoroughly.
- Labelling – the cylindrical shape of the bottle makes it easier to apply a label. The dimensions suitable for a label can be found in the parameters.
- Other caps – caps with the same neck type and ready-made container + cap combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend verifying tightness, dispensing and the behaviour of the container with the specific formulation.
- Recycling – the bottle is made of PET and the cap of PP. Separate them before disposal; both materials belong in sorted plastic waste.
Do not fill the bottle with hot contents and do not expose it to aggressive chemicals or prolonged direct sunlight. PET deforms at higher temperatures, and the colour of the plastic does not replace protection for light-sensitive ingredients.
