Product description

A blue plastic bottle with a black fine mist sprayer and a glossy gold collar forms a ready-made 200 ml set for liquid products applied by spraying. It is suitable for facial toners, hydrosols, body and hair refreshing sprays, spray deodorants, or disinfectant and cleaning solutions applied as a fine mist. The plastic bottle is lightweight and unbreakable, so you can carry it in a handbag, take it into the shower or on trips. The black sprayer with the gold collar gives the bottle the look of a finished product that needs no further adjustments before sale or gifting.

What it is suitable for

  • Toners and hydrosols – thin water-based solutions pass through the sprayer without problems and create an even mist that spreads quickly on the skin.
  • Refreshing and hair sprays – a spray with a small proportion of alcohol or glycerine, a hair tonic or a detangling spray.
  • Household solutions – water-based room fragrances with a solubiliser, or solutions for cleaning brushes or surfaces. With a higher proportion of solvents, we recommend testing in advance how the plastic behaves.
  • Samples and test batches – the 200 ml volume is enough for a small production run and the bottle stays stable on the shelf.

How the set works

The PET bottle and the sprayer have the same neck finish, so the sprayer screws directly onto the bottle. The sprayer works mechanically: pressing the head draws liquid up through the dip tube from the bottom of the bottle and sprays it out as fine droplets. One press releases approximately 0.12 ml. The head is made of plastic, and the gold collar is made of aluminium and covers the point where the sprayer sits on the neck.

The sprayer is designed for liquids with a viscosity close to that of water. Oils, thick serums and emulsions either will not spray into a mist or will clog the nozzle over time. A pump or a dropper is better suited to such products.

Filling and volume

Nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed to hold when filled normally. The actual brimful volume is higher, because with a sprayer you need to leave room for the dip tube, the immersed part of the closure and the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If you filled it up to the neck, part of the contents would be pushed out when the sprayer is screwed on and the thread could leak.

Before the first filling, we recommend washing the bottle and the sprayer, rinsing them with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and leaving them to dry completely. After filling, press the head several times to prime the sprayer so that the tube fills and the mist starts to come out evenly.

Good to know

The set as a whole is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics, and the declaration of conformity is available with the product. The bottle itself also has a certificate for direct contact with food. The sprayer does not have such a certificate, so the set is not intended for food use.

For solutions with a high proportion of ethanol, undiluted essential oils or solvents, we recommend leaving a sample in the bottle for several weeks and watching for cloudiness, odour or softening of the wall. Let the contents cool to room temperature before pouring them in, as the bottle is not intended for hot filling.

The packaging can be reused. Before refilling, wash the bottle and the sprayer and rinse them with clean water so that residues of the previous product do not clog the nozzle. When sorting waste, the bottle belongs with plastics. The sprayer combines plastic with an aluminium collar, so dispose of it separately according to the rules in your municipality.

The dip tube of the sprayer may be longer than the height of the bottle. Check it before first use: if it bends at the bottom, trim it so that it reaches just above the bottom.

You can find closures with the same neck finish and other ready-made bottle and closure combinations in the Handymade range. If you combine parts yourself, we recommend checking the tightness, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fill the 200 ml plastic sprayer bottle with oil or an oil serum?
We do not recommend oil or oil serum for this sprayer. The mechanical sprayer is designed for thin water-based liquids, and oil and thicker serums will not spray into a mist and will clog the nozzle over time. A bottle with a pump or a dropper is better suited to oil products. The sprayer handles water-based solutions, hydrosols and toners with a small proportion of glycerine or alcohol.
How much liquid does the sprayer release with one press?
With one full press of the head, the sprayer releases approximately 0.12 ml. The actual dose depends on the viscosity of the contents and on whether the dip tube is fully filled. After filling, we therefore recommend priming the sprayer with several presses until the mist comes out evenly.
Is the blue bottle and sprayer set suitable for food?
No, the set as a whole is not approved for contact with food. Only the bottle has a certificate for direct contact with food, and the sprayer does not have such a certificate. The set is therefore intended for cosmetics and technical solutions.
Will the PET bottle withstand toners with alcohol or essential oils?
With a high concentration of alcohol or undiluted essential oils, we recommend testing the suitability of the bottle first. Leave a sample in the bottle for several weeks and watch for cloudiness, odour or softening of the wall. If no changes occur, the packaging is suitable for the given product. Water-based toners with a small amount of essential oils in a solubiliser are a common use for the sprayer.
How do I clean a plastic bottle with a sprayer before reusing it?
Wash the bottle and the sprayer with warm water and a cleaning product, rinse them with clean water and then rinse with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol. Spray clean water through the sprayer several times to flush residues out of the tube and the nozzle. Leave both parts to dry completely and only then fill the bottle with a new product.
