Blue Plastic Bottle, Golden Flip Top, 200 ml

The blue plastic bottle with a gold cap is used for dispensing liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products that are used regularly and in larger amounts. The 200 ml volume corresponds to a standard pack of shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion or liquid soap. The bottle is made of PET, is lightweight, does not break if dropped in the bathroom and can be squeezed comfortably during dispensing. The blue colour of the bottle and the gold cap create a uniform look.

The cap is a disc top type. Pressing one side of the disc opens the dispensing hole on the opposite side, and pressing it again closes it. You can dispense with one hand, without unscrewing the cap. The body of the cap is made of PP, the outer shell has a gold aluminium surface and the centre of the disc is clear. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

What the set is suitable for

• Shower gels and shampoos – liquid to medium-thick products flow smoothly through the disc top, and the hole closes after use so that shower water does not get into the bottle.
• Body and face lotions – light emulsions flow out when the bottle is tilted or lightly squeezed, without opening the whole closure.
• Conditioners and liquid soaps – the bottle is easy to hold even with a wet hand, and dispensing stays clean.
• Household cleaning products – for formulations without aggressive solvents and after checking compatibility with the material.

The disc top is not suitable for very thick creams and butters, which are difficult to push through the hole. With completely watery liquids, such as toners or hydrosols, the contents may drip from the hole. For such products it is better to choose a pump or fine mist sprayer with the same neck type.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended for under normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck and is usually higher. The difference provides a reserve for the cap and for possible expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill the bottle up to the nominal volume. If it were filled up to the neck, the contents would overflow when the cap is screwed on or would spray out through the hole on the first squeeze.

Good to know

PET tolerates aqueous solutions, surfactant bases and standard emulsions well. For formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils, fragrance compositions or solvents, we recommend leaving the filled bottle to stand for several weeks before a larger production run and checking that the wall does not turn cloudy, soften or deform. The packaging is not intended for hot filling. Let the finished product cool to room temperature before filling.

A blue plastic bottle does not replace dark glass. Store products with light-sensitive active ingredients, for example with vitamin C or certain extracts, away from direct sunlight.

The disc top seals during normal use and when carried in a bag. If the bottle is left lying on its side for longer or sent by post, it is worth taping over the hole and wrapping the bottle in a bag. The bottle and the cap can be reused after washing and disinfection. Do not clean the aluminium shell of the cap with abrasive products, as the surface will get scratched. When you finish using it, put the PET bottle in the plastics recycling; unscrew the PP cap with the aluminium shell and dispose of it separately.
