Product description
The blue 200 ml plastic bottle with a clear disc top cap is designed for liquid and medium-thick cosmetic products that are dispensed by squeezing the bottle: shower gels, shampoos, body lotions, liquid soaps or conditioners. The bottle is made of PET, so it is lightweight, does not break when dropped and is suitable for the shower and for travel. The disc top opens by pressing one side of the disc and closes by pressing the other, so the bottle stays closed without a separate cap that could get lost.
The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The bottle itself also has a certificate for direct food contact, whereas the disc top cap does not. The set as a whole is therefore intended for cosmetics.
What it is suitable for
- Rinse-off products for the shower – shower gels, shampoos, conditioners and liquid soaps. Dispensing through the disc top works with one hand, even a wet one, and the opening can be closed straight away.
- Body lotions and lighter emulsions – textures that can be squeezed out of the bottle. A thick cream will not pass through the disc top opening, so a jar or container is more suitable for such products.
- Body and massage oils – the 200 ml volume corresponds to a common household pack size.
- Liquid products outside cosmetics – both the bottle and the cap are technical grade, so the set can also be used for liquids that are neither cosmetics nor food.
Filling and dispensing
The bottle is designed to be filled to its nominal volume of 200 ml. The space up to the neck is slightly larger, but it serves as a reserve for the cap thread and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If the bottle were filled right to the brim, the contents would leak out when it is closed and would have nowhere to go when the bottle is squeezed.
The cap screws onto the 24/410 neck finish and is tightened by hand. To dispense, press one side of the disc to reveal a small opening, turn the bottle upside down and squeeze it. The amount depends on the squeezing force: liquid gels flow easily, while a thicker lotion requires a firmer squeeze. After use, press the disc back down.
Before closing the disc top, wipe off any product residue around the opening. Over time, dried lotion or gel residue makes the cap sticky and the disc becomes harder to open.
PET does not tolerate higher temperatures. Fill emulsions, gels and infusions only after they have cooled to room temperature, never hot. Also do not expose the bottle to aggressive chemicals.
Good to know
- Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle and the cap, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water in the packaging shortens the shelf life of the finished product.
- Other closures – the bottle has a 24/410 neck finish. Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the seal and the dispensing.
- Recycling – the bottle is made of PET and the cap of PP, so separate them before disposal.
