Blue Plastic Bottle, Transparent Disc Top, 250 ml

This plastic bottle with a volume of 250 ml is made of blue PET and has a clear disc top closure. It is used for filling liquid and medium-thick cosmetic products that are dispensed by squeezing the bottle. PET is lightweight and does not break when dropped, so the bottle is suitable for the shower, the washbasin and travel. The bottle and closure set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics.

What it is suitable for

The disc top closure has a round disc on top. Pressing one side opens a small outlet, the contents are pushed out by gently squeezing the bottle, and the disc snaps back after closing. The product is therefore dispensed in small doses and is easy to control.

• Shower gels and shampoos – products with a liquid to medium-thick consistency pass through the outlet without effort, and the bottle is easy to handle even with a wet hand.
• Body lotions and light emulsions – thinner emulsions are dispensed in small amounts straight onto the palm.
• Liquid soaps and conditioners – the 250 ml volume lasts for everyday use in the bathroom without frequent refilling.
• Massage and body oils – thicker oils flow smoothly; with very thin oils, expect a faster flow.

A thick cream or butter passes through the opening of the disc top with difficulty, and squeezing the bottle does not push it out evenly. Very thin liquids, such as toners or hydrosols, may pour out all at once when the bottle is tilted. A sprayer or a pump is more suitable for these.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The brimful volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the closure and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes, so the bottle is filled up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If the bottle is overfilled, the contents get into the thread when the cap is screwed on, and the disc top may then leak.

Good to know

Before the first filling, we recommend washing the bottle and the cap, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or ethanol and letting them dry completely. The same procedure applies when reusing the bottle. PET and PP withstand normal washing, so the packaging is not single-use.

Only the bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact. The disc top cap has no such assessment, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.

The bottle is made of PET and the cap of PP. Both materials are recyclable. Before disposal, simply unscrew the cap so that the plastics can be processed separately.
