Question 1

Which wax is best for container candles?

Accepted Answer

The container types give the best results — soy KeraSoy container 4130 or EcoSoya CB-Advanced, for example. They adhere to glass very well and leave a smooth surface.

Question 2

Which wax should I use for pillar candles?

Accepted Answer

Free-standing candles call for the harder pillar waxes such as KeraSoy pillar 4120, EcoSoya pillar blend or palm BW C09. They hold a firm shape and release easily from the mould.

Question 3

How can I improve the fragrance release from a candle?

Accepted Answer

Keep to the recommended stirring temperature, let the candle cure for at least 48 hours and use compatible fragrance blends. If the flame is weak, choose a larger wick.

Question 4

What causes frosting on soy candles?

Accepted Answer

Frosting is the natural crystallisation of soy wax. A steady pouring temperature, slow and even cooling out of any draught and gently warming the surface after pouring all keep it to a minimum.
