Product description

A 15 ml glass bottle with dropper is a complete packaging and closure set for precise drop-by-drop dispensing of liquid cosmetics. The bottle is made of clear glass with a milky matte surface that diffuses light while still allowing you to gauge the colour and amount of the contents. The dropper with a silver matte ring and white bulb complements the bottle and suits a clean, understated product look.

The small 15 ml volume is practical for more expensive raw materials, for samples, and for preparations that will be used up within a few weeks. The set is intended for cosmetics and is not approved for contact with food.

What the set offers

  • Precise dispensing – the dropper measures the contents drop by drop, which is appreciated for serums, oil concentrates and preparations with active ingredients where a small amount makes a difference.
  • Matte glass diffuses light – the contents are protected from direct light exposure but remain partially visible. For raw materials particularly sensitive to light, dark glass is more suitable.
  • Glass tube – the part of the dropper submerged in the contents is made of glass, making it suitable for oils, alcohol-based tinctures and preparations with essential oils.
  • Ready-made combination – the bottle and dropper share the same neck type, so there is no need to search for or test a matching closure separately. Further closures with the same neck and ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range.
  • Suitability for cosmetics – both components of the set are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is intended under normal filling. Total brim-full volume is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the glass tube of the dropper, which when screwed in displaces some of the contents upward, and for the expansion of the preparation with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, after fitting the dropper the contents will be forced into the thread, the closure will stick and the preparation will leak.

When filling thicker serums, let the contents settle for a moment to allow air bubbles to escape before screwing on the dropper. Pour oil blends slowly along the inside wall of the bottle.

What the set is suitable for

  • Facial serums on both water and oil base, applied as a few drops to clean skin.
  • Face and hair oils, oil blends with essential oils, cuticle oil and beard oil.
  • Active ingredient concentrates added drop by drop to a finished cream or mask.
  • Tinctures and alcohol extracts – the contents come into contact primarily with glass and the seal.
  • Samples and test batches – the small volume allows multiple formula variants to be prepared without wasting raw materials.

The dropper is not suitable for thick emulsions, balms and creams, as the preparation cannot be drawn up into it. For such textures, jars or pots are more appropriate.

Good to know

Before the first fill, we recommend washing and disinfecting both the bottle and the dropper with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leaving them to dry completely. Residual water in the tube or bulb can spoil an anhydrous oil preparation or promote microbial growth in a water-based serum.

The dropper has a silicone bulb and plastic parts. For preparations with a high proportion of essential oils or with strong solvents, we recommend checking whether the bulb softens over time and whether the seal holds. The glass tube tolerates these contents without issue, but when the bottle is tilted the preparation also reaches the upper part of the dropper. Once empty, rinse the dropper thoroughly, as dried oil impairs suction.

The bottle is made of glass, so do not fill it with hot contents and protect it from impact. When reusing, check especially the condition of the bulb and the seal in the ring; glass withstands many wash cycles.

Label dimensions are listed in the specifications. With the small bottle diameter, expect limited space for mandatory information. When using your own combination with a different closure, we recommend testing the tightness and behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.

The set is not approved for contact with food. Use it for cosmetic preparations only, not for food-grade oils, syrups or extracts intended for consumption.

Once empty, the bottle is sorted into glass waste. The dropper is disassembled into the metal ring, plastic and silicone parts, and the glass tube, and sorted by material.

Frequently asked questions

Does the milky glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Partially. The matte milky surface diffuses direct light and reduces its impact on the contents, but it is not as effective as brown or blue glass. For everyday serums and oils stored in a cabinet or out of direct sunlight, the protection is sufficient. For raw materials particularly sensitive to light, such as certain vitamins and retinoids, dark glass is more suitable.
How much does the 15 ml glass dropper bottle actually hold?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, i.e. 15 ml. The total brim-full volume is larger, but this difference is a reserve for the glass tube of the dropper and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If you fill the bottle to the brim, after screwing on the dropper the contents will be forced into the thread and will leak.
Is the dropper suitable for oils and essential oils?
Yes, the contents come into contact primarily with the glass tube, which tolerates both oils and essential oils well. The bulb is made of silicone, so for preparations with a very high proportion of essential oils or with solvents, we recommend checking whether it softens over time. Standard diluted blends in a carrier oil are the typical use case for this set.
Can the glass dropper bottle be reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the dropper can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. Glass can be washed without limitation; for the dropper, check the condition of the bulb and the seal in the ring. Both parts must be completely dry before refilling, so that residual water does not spoil an oil preparation or promote microbial growth in a water-based serum.
Is the glass dropper bottle suitable for a water-based serum with active ingredients?
Yes, the dropper dispenses both water-based and oil-based preparations with low viscosity. With a water-based serum, bear in mind that each use returns the tube to the bottle after it has been in contact with the skin or air. The preparation must therefore be adequately preserved. The small bottle volume is an advantage, as it is used up quickly.
