Product description
This is a complete set consisting of a transparent bottle made of recycled PET with a nominal volume of 250 ml and a gold disc top cap, which is supplied together with the bottle and does not need to be purchased separately. It is suitable for liquid and medium-thick cosmetic products dispensed by squeezing the bottle – shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, body lotions, liquid soaps or light facial emulsions. Through the transparent wall you can see both the colour and the amount of the contents, and PET is lightweight and break-resistant, so the bottle holds up both in the bathroom and during transport. The disc top opens by pressing one side of the disc and closes just as easily, so the contents are dispensed with one hand without unscrewing.
How to work with the set
The bottle has a 24/410 threaded neck onto which the disc top cap is screwed directly. The cap has a gold-coloured aluminium shell and a functional part with a thread and a dispensing disc made of polypropylene (PP). The transparent centre of the disc lets you check whether the outlet opening is clean. When dispensing, the disc is pressed on one side, which opens a small opening, and the product is squeezed out by gently pressing the wall of the bottle. The amount dispensed depends on the pressing force and on the thickness of the contents. Gels and lotions flow out in a controlled way. Very thin liquids, such as toners and hydrosols, flow out quickly and are harder to measure, so a spray is more suitable for them. Thick creams and butters are difficult to push through the small opening and are better served by a pump or a jar.
Before the first filling, rinse both the bottle and the cap, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Do not fill to the brim – fill to the nominal volume so that the cap does not push the contents out after tightening and so that the product has somewhere to retreat when the bottle is squeezed.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is intended for under normal filling, and it is the one stated on the label. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume all the way to the neck and is somewhat larger. The difference is a reserve for the cap, for the air above the surface and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. With a disc top cap, the reserve is also important because the bottle is squeezed during dispensing and the compressed air helps push the contents out.
What is good to know when choosing and filling
- Light – transparent PET does not protect the contents from light. For products with oils prone to oxidation, essential oils or light-sensitive active ingredients, dark glass or an opaque container is more suitable, or storage away from direct light.
- Composition of the contents – PET tolerates common water-based, emulsion and surfactant formulations well. For contents with a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol or other solvents, we recommend verifying the behaviour of both the bottle and the cap with the specific formulation (cloudiness, softening of the wall, tightness).
- Tightness – the set is assembled from parts with the same type of neck. Even so, with each new formulation it is worth carrying out a tightness test: place the filled bottle on its side and let it stand for a few hours, or test the closed disc under slight pressure.
- Reuse – both the bottle and the cap can be used again after washing and disinfection. Do not soak the aluminium shell of the cap for a long time in aggressive cleaning agents and do not clean it abrasively, so that it keeps its gold surface.
- Recycling – the bottle is sorted as PET plastic. The cap combines aluminium and PP, so unscrew it from the bottle before disposal.
Both the bottle and the cap are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity and the test certificate are enclosed with the product. The set is intended for cosmetics and is not declared for contact with food.
The bottle is made of recycled PET, so the product gets packaging with a lower consumption of primary raw material.
Suitable for products such as
- Shower gels and shampoos – medium-thick surfactant products are dispensed precisely through the disc top and the bottle is comfortable to hold even with a wet hand.
- Conditioners and body lotions – liquid to creamy emulsions that still flow out well when squeezed.
- Liquid hand soaps – the contents are visible through the wall, so it is clear when to refill.
- Light facial and hair emulsions – provided they are not sensitive to light.
- Massage and body oils – stable oils only; oxidation-prone oils belong in a dark container.
