Product description

This is a ready-made packaging and closure set: a clear bottle made of recycled PET and a black plastic pump dispenser with the same neck type. Together they form a practical container for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic preparations that are dispensed repeatedly without unscrewing – body lotions, liquid soaps, shampoos, shower gels, conditioners or facial cleansing gels in a volume of 250 ml.

The bottle is lightweight and shatterproof, making it suitable for the bathroom, shower and travel. Its transparency reveals the colour of the contents and how much product remains. The black dispenser creates a bold, contrasting look on the clear bottle, which makes it easier to achieve a uniform appearance across a product range and legible labelling. The set as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics; declarations of conformity for both components are included with the product.

Why the set is practical

  • Dispensing without contact with the contents – the dispenser delivers the product by pressing, without unscrewing and without dipping fingers into the bottle. This reduces the risk of contamination, the contents are used in a controlled manner and the packaging is suitable for products used daily over an extended period.
  • Recycled bottle material – the bottle is made from recycled PET, which reduces the consumption of new plastic. The standard properties of a PET container are retained: low weight, shatter resistance and good dimensional stability.
  • Same neck type – both the bottle and the dispenser have the same thread, so they fit together tightly. The dispenser can later be replaced by another closure with the same neck from our range.

What the set is suitable for

The dispenser works best with preparations of liquid to medium-thick consistency: body and facial lotions, light emulsions, liquid soaps, shampoos, shower gels, conditioners, cleansing gels and foams, massage oils. One press dispenses approximately 1 ml of product, which is a convenient dose for washing hands or a single application of lotion.

Less suitable are thick creams, butters and balms – the dispenser draws them with difficulty or not at all. Very thin aqueous solutions (tonics, hydrolates) can be dispensed, but a spray bottle is usually more practical for these. If the dispenser does not draw up after the first fill, the cause is usually either too high a viscosity or air in the tube – several empty presses will help.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is designed for normal filling. Total volume to the top of the neck is somewhat larger. The difference is an intentional reserve: it is needed by the tube and body of the dispenser, which take up space in the bottle when screwed on, and expansion of the contents with temperature changes is also accounted for. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim – otherwise the product will be pushed out through the neck when attaching the dispenser.

Before the first fill, rinse both the bottle and dispenser, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Flush the dispenser by pumping it several times with clean water and then with air while empty.

Good to know

PET and product composition. PET tolerates aqueous preparations, emulsions, surfactant systems and common vegetable oils well. However, concentrated essential oils, blends with a high proportion of them and certain solvents can damage or cloud the plastic over time. For pure essential oils and their undiluted blends, glass is more appropriate; with scented emulsions and gels at normal fragrance dosages, problems generally do not arise. With a custom formulation, we recommend verifying the container's behaviour with the specific product.

Transparency and light. The clear bottle does not protect the contents from light. Preparations with light-sensitive substances (such as certain plant extracts, vitamins or unstabilised oils) should be kept away from direct sunlight, or a darker container should be chosen for them.

Dispenser tube. The tube is long enough to reach the bottom of the bottle and draw up the contents right to the end. If it bends during attachment, it can be shortened with a sharp knife so that it ends just above the bottom.

Tightness and transport. The dispenser is designed for dispensing, not for transporting a filled product. When shipping finished products, we recommend verifying the tightness of the joint and securing the dispenser against accidental pressing.

Heat. PET is not designed for filling with hot contents. Allow emulsions and gels to cool to room temperature before filling – hot material can deform the bottle.

Labelling. The straight cylindrical shape of the bottle provides sufficient surface area for a label. No label is needed on the black dispenser; the contrasting colour alone distinguishes the container from others in the bathroom.

The set as a whole is not approved for contact with food. Only the black dispenser has a certificate for direct food contact; the bottle does not. The set is therefore intended for cosmetic and technical preparations, not for food-grade oils or syrups.

Recycling. The bottle is made of PET, the dispenser of PP – separate the components before disposal and sort by material.

Other closures. Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made packaging + closure combinations can be found in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying the tightness, dispensing and container behaviour with the specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the recycled PET bottle with 250 ml pump dispenser suitable for liquid soap and shampoo?
Yes, liquid soaps, shampoos and shower gels are among the most suitable preparations for this set. Surfactant systems do not affect PET and the dispenser can handle their typical viscosity. One press dispenses approximately 1 ml, which corresponds to a single dose for washing hands. Thick pearlescent shampoos with high viscosity may dispense more slowly.
Can I fill the recycled PET bottle with pump dispenser with body lotion or cream?
Body and facial lotions yes, thick creams no. The dispenser works with liquid to medium-thick consistency; it dispenses light emulsions and lotions comfortably. Thick creams, butters and balms it either cannot draw up or dispenses unevenly – a jar or pot is more suitable for these. With a thicker emulsion, we recommend verifying the dispensing with a test dose before filling the entire batch.
Does the clear PET bottle protect the contents from light?
No, the clear bottle does not protect the contents from light. The transparent material allows daylight through, so it is best suited for preparations that are not light-sensitive, or for products stored in a bathroom away from windows. For serums with unstable active ingredients, unstabilised oils or plant extracts, it is better to choose amber or blue glass or an opaque container.
How many millilitres is the 250 ml bottle with dispenser filled to?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 250 ml, not to the brim. The total volume to the neck is greater and the difference is a reserve for the tube and body of the dispenser, which take up space in the bottle when screwed on, and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If the bottle is filled to the brim, the product will be pushed out through the neck when attaching the dispenser.
Can the bottle with dispenser be washed and reused?
Yes, both the bottle and dispenser can be washed and reused. Rinse the bottle with warm water and a gentle cleaner, pump the dispenser with clean water until it runs clear, then with air while empty. Before the next fill, disinfect both components with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry. PET cannot withstand hot water or a dishwasher – the bottle could deform.
Is the set of recycled bottle with black dispenser suitable for food?
No, the set as a whole is not approved for contact with food. Only the black dispenser has a certificate for direct food contact; the recycled PET bottle does not. The set is therefore intended for cosmetic and technical preparations – lotions, gels, liquid soaps, massage oils – and is not used for domestic food-grade oils or syrups.
