Product description
A transparent round plastic bottle with a push-pull cap, 28/410, 500 ml is a ready-to-use set for liquid cosmetic products used daily and dispensed repeatedly in small amounts – shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, liquid soaps or thinner body lotions. The transparent bottle shows the colour of the contents and how much is left. The white push-pull cap allows the package to be opened and closed in one motion without unscrewing, which is especially convenient in the shower and with wet hands. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. The bottle alone holds a food contact certificate; the cap does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products.
How the set works
- Dispensing without unscrewing – the push-pull cap opens by pulling the top part and closes by pressing it back down. The opening is relatively narrow and the contents are dispensed by gently squeezing the bottle, so only as much comes out as needed. It works best with products of medium viscosity. Very thin liquids may squirt with a stronger squeeze; thick creams will not pass through the opening.
- Transparent packaging – both the customer and the manufacturer can see the contents, their colour and the remaining amount. However, the bottle does not protect the contents from light. Products containing oxidation-sensitive oils, vitamins or dyes that fade in light should be stored away from direct light, or an opaque or dark container should be chosen.
- 500 ml volume – a size suitable for products with everyday use where a larger pack makes sense, for example in the shower or as a refill bottle for a dispenser.
- Lightweight and durable – the plastic bottle is ideal for the bathroom, where glass poses a breakage risk, and reduces the weight of the shipment.
Suitable for products such as
The set is designed for products that flow and are dispensed by squeezing the bottle: shower gels and bath foams, shampoos and conditioners of lighter consistency, liquid hand soaps, thinner body and cleansing milks, liquid agents for delicate laundry or facial cleansing gels. It is also suitable for liquid massage and bath oils; with these, however, the neck should be wiped after use to prevent oil from remaining in the closure. It is not suitable for thick creams and butters, powder products or products intended to be sprayed.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is designed under normal filling conditions, and it is this volume that the label 500 ml refers to. The total volume to the brim is the physical capacity of the bottle up to the neck and is slightly larger. This difference serves as a margin for the closure and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. It also ensures that the product does not overflow through the neck when the cap is fitted. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.
Before fitting the cap, wipe the bottle neck dry. Product residue on the thread impairs the seal and, with gel products, gradually dries out in the cap opening.
Good to know
- Preparation before first filling – we recommend washing both the bottle and the cap, sanitising with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing them to dry completely. Moisture inside the container increases the risk of microbial contamination, which the preservative may not be able to handle.
- Filling and temperature – plastic bottles are not intended for hot filling. Allow the product to cool to room temperature before filling; otherwise deformation of the wall or underpressure inside the closed bottle may occur.
- Compatibility with contents – standard water-based and emulsion products do not harm the plastic. At higher concentrations of essential oils, solvents or in products with a high alcohol content, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the container with the specific formulation to check whether any change in the wall appearance or odour of the contents occurs.
- Leak-tightness during transport – the push-pull cap is designed for convenient dispensing. When shipping filled bottles, we recommend checking the seal in a horizontal position and, for products with low viscosity, considering additional neck protection.
- Reuse – once empty, rinse the bottle with warm water, flush the push-pull cap in the open position and allow both parts to dry. If product has dried in the cap opening, soaking the cap in warm water will help.
- Labelling – the rounded shape of the bottle requires a label that follows the curvature of the wall. The bottle diameter can be found in the product specifications. Transparent labels also work well on the clear wall, allowing the contents to show through.
- Closures – the bottle has a neck with the thread type specified in the product parameters. Additional closures with the same thread type and ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing and container behaviour with the specific formulation.
- Recycling – both components of the set are made of plastic; the cap is made of polypropylene. Empty and rinsed packaging belongs in the sorted plastics collection.
The bottle alone holds a food contact certificate; the push-pull cap does not. Do not use the set as a whole for household oils, syrups or other foodstuffs – it is intended for cosmetic products.
