Product description
Glass bottle, dropper vial, 5 ml is a small set for precise drop-by-drop dosing. Amber glass protects the contents from light, which you will appreciate with oils, essential oil blends and active ingredients that lose quality faster when exposed to light. The shiny silver dropper gives the bottle a neat appearance and also serves as a closure, so the packaging is ready to fill without searching for a cap.
The 5 ml volume is intended for products used sparingly: concentrated serums for the eye area, essential oil blends, oil perfumes, test samples of new formulations or measured doses of active ingredients that customers add to their own cream. For manufacturers, it is a practical format for testers and samples included with orders, where a larger container is not worthwhile.
What the set consists of
- Amber glass bottle – vial shape with a narrow neck, type 18/410. The glass is chemically resistant, does not react with oils or alcohol solutions and does not absorb the scent of the contents, so it can be reused after cleaning.
- Dropper with a shiny silver casing – consists of an aluminium collar, plastic thread, silicone bulb and glass tube. The tube length is matched to the height of the bottle so it reaches almost to the bottom, allowing the contents to be dispensed without unnecessary residue.
- Matching neck type – the bottle and dropper share the same thread, the closure seats straight and no adjustment is needed.
Practical use
The dropper allows you to measure the contents drop by drop, which is more precise with concentrated substances than pouring from an open-neck bottle. One squeeze of the bulb draws up a small amount that can be dispensed directly onto the skin, into the palm or into a prepared emulsion.
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products, the declaration of conformity and technical documentation are available with the product. The set is not approved for contact with food, neither the bottle nor the dropper, so use it only for cosmetics and similar non-food products.
With pure essential oils and solvents, we recommend checking the compatibility of the silicone bulb with the specific formulation on a single piece before larger-scale filling.
Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the neck. The glass tube of the dropper takes up some space once screwed in, and overfilling will push the contents through the thread. After filling, tighten the dropper firmly.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended for under normal filling conditions, and it is by this that the packaging is selected and labelled. Total volume to the rim is the physical space up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference between them forms a reserve for the dropper and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For oils and alcohol blends, this reserve is important because without it, the contents would enter the thread when screwed on and the dropper would not seal.
Good to know
- Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle and the glass tube of the dropper, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based product can cause cloudiness or microbial problems.
- Reuse – glass is easy to clean; with the dropper, make sure to rinse the tube and bulb thoroughly, where residues of the contents tend to remain. When changing fragrance or formulation, it is better to use a new dropper.
- With a small container, allow for limited space for mandatory information; part of the data can be placed on the outer packaging.
- Transport – the dropper is not a secure closure for prolonged carrying in a bag or backpack. When shipping to customers, wrap the bottle in film or a separate bag to prevent any leakage from damaging other items.
- Recycling – the bottle goes into glass recycling; the dropper is made of multiple materials, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.
Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made container + closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. With your own combination, we recommend checking the seal, dosing and behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.
The glass tube of the dropper is fragile. Do not use force when inserting it into the bottle or when tightening; a cracked tube can release glass fragments into the contents.
