A glass bottle with a nominal volume of 100 ml and a black tamper-evident cap is a ready-made combination of container and closure that does not need to be assembled from two separate items. It is suitable for liquid cosmetic products that are poured from the bottle or transferred further: facial waters and tonics, hydrolats, body and massage oils, oil macerates, or alcohol extracts for cosmetic use.

Glass does not react with the contents, does not let air through, and does not absorb the scent or colour of the filling. It is therefore also suitable for blends containing essential oils, alcohol, and other ingredients that tend to be challenging for plastic bottles. How the tamper-evident cap works

The cap has a tamper-evident ring that detaches when unscrewed for the first time. The customer can immediately see that the bottle has not been opened since filling. For products intended for sale or as a gift, this is a simple way to demonstrate the integrity of the contents without a protective seal.

After the first opening, the cap serves as a regular screw closure and the bottle can be resealed repeatedly. The closure has no dispensing element; the contents are poured directly from the neck. The set is therefore practical for thinner liquids and for products that are dispensed onto a cotton pad, into the palm, or decanted from the bottle into smaller containers.

Nominal and total volume

When filling, two figures are used. Nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed for under normal filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck. The difference between them provides headspace for the closure and for expansion of the contents when temperature changes.

The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. For oils and alcohol-based blends, which expand more noticeably with heat, this headspace is also important to prevent the contents from pressing against the closure.

• Facial waters, tonics and hydrolats – water-based products applied with a cotton pad that do not require a dispenser
• Body, massage and hair oils – glass does not absorb the oil component or the scent
• Blends containing essential oils – glass is resistant to them even with prolonged contact
• Alcohol extracts for cosmetic use – glass is also resistant to ethanol
• Stock packaging for own semi-finished products – macerates, oil blends or fragrance compositions from which smaller containers are filled

What is worth knowing

Preparation before filling. Wash both the bottle and the cap before first use, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the bottle is a common source of stability problems in anhydrous products.

Glass and heat. Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Do not pour a hot filling into a cold bottle, and do not cool a filled bottle abruptly.

Plastic cap and contents. The cap comes into contact with the contents mainly during transport and when stored on its side. For blends with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend verifying the seal integrity and appearance of the closure by test storage with the specific formulation.

Labelling. The cylindrical body of the bottle provides a flat surface for a wrap-around label. The dimensions needed for label design are in the product parameters. Degrease the surface before applying the label; this improves adhesion even with oily products.

Alternative closure. If a dropper, pump, or spray is needed instead of the cap, closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations are available from Handymade. Sorting. Glass is recyclable; the plastic cap is sorted separately from the bottle.
