Plastic bottle, clear round, black cap and dropper, 28/410, 500 ml

A plastic bottle with a capacity of 500 ml supplied with a black cap and a dropper insert, designed for storing and dispensing thin cosmetic liquids with minimal waste. The dropper fitted in the neck slows the flow, so the contents can be dispensed drop by drop or in a thin stream without spilling all at once when tilted. With a larger volume, this is particularly useful when only small amounts are taken from the bottle at a time.

The clear wall reveals the colour and fill level, so it is immediately visible what is in the bottle and how much remains. Plastic is lightweight and will not shatter if dropped, which is convenient in a workshop, bathroom, or when travelling.

What the set is suitable for

• Thin water-based products – hydrosols, facial waters, tonics and micellar waters, which flow smoothly through the dropper and can be dispensed directly onto a cotton pad.
• Oils and oil blends – vegetable, massage and body oils, where the dropper helps prevent spilling and dripping down the neck.
• Workshop stock packaging – liquid raw materials from which small quantities are taken during production, without the need to pour through a funnel each time.
• Refilling smaller containers – the thin stream makes it easier to pour into bottles with a narrow neck.

Thick gels, shampoos, shower gels and emulsions flow slowly or not at all through the dropper. For these, a closure with a larger opening or a pump dispenser is more suitable.

How the bottle, dropper and cap work together

The bottle is filled through the open neck. The dropper is pressed into the neck after filling, and the cap is then screwed on to seal the container. To dispense, simply unscrew the cap and tilt the bottle. The flow rate depends on the viscosity of the contents: aqueous solutions drip quickly, oils more slowly.

Nominal and total volume

The 500 ml figure is the nominal volume, meaning the quantity the bottle is intended to hold under normal filling conditions. The total volume to the brim of the neck is slightly larger. This difference provides headspace for the dropper insert fitted in the neck and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Overfilling will cause the contents to overflow when the dropper is inserted, soiling the thread.

What is worth knowing

Preparation before first filling. Wash the bottle, dropper and cap, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the container shortens the microbiological stability of water-containing products.

Contact with cosmetics and food. All three parts of the set are suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The bottle and cap individually hold food-contact certification; the dropper does not. The set as a whole is therefore intended for cosmetics only.

Labelling. The smooth, rounded wall allows a label to be applied around the circumference of the bottle. The dimensions needed for label design are listed in the product specifications.

Recycling. The bottle, cap and dropper are all plastic and should be placed in plastic recycling once empty.
