Product description

Plastic bottle, clear round with flip top, 1000 ml is a complete packaging and closure set designed for liquid and medium-viscosity products in larger quantities. The clear bottle with a rounded shape shows the contents and how much remains; the white flip top with the same neck type allows one-handed dispensing without unscrewing. The 1000 ml volume makes this set a practical choice for shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, body lotions, massage oils, or ready-made bases that are filled in bulk and used gradually.

Both the bottle and the cap are approved for direct contact with food and declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. The set as a whole can therefore also be used for home oils, syrups, or herbal infusions. The declaration of conformity and certificates are listed with the product.

What the set is suitable for

  • Rinse-off cosmetics – shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, and wash foams used daily; in the shower, flip-top dispensing is the most convenient.
  • Body lotions and lighter emulsions – liquid to medium-viscosity textures that flow freely through the closure opening.
  • Oils and oil blends – massage oils, bath oils, or oil bases for further processing; for light-sensitive oils, see the note below.
  • Bulk packaging – ready-made bases, toners, or cleansing preparations from which smaller containers are filled gradually.
  • Food use – home oils, syrups, infusions, or extracts, thanks to the certification of the complete set.

How to work with the set

The flip top is opened by flipping the cap and the contents are dispensed by tilting and gently squeezing the bottle. The amount is controlled by the pressure applied. Once the cap is snapped shut, the opening is sealed and the bottle can be left in a wet environment such as a shower. The dose size depends on the viscosity of the contents: thin liquids flow quickly with minimal tilting, while thicker products require more pronounced squeezing.

Before the first fill, wash both the bottle and the cap, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely. Residual moisture inside the packaging reduces the microbiological stability of water-based products.

The cap can be replaced at any time with another closure of the same neck type listed in the product parameters. Ready-made packaging and closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. For custom combinations, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing behaviour, and compatibility with the specific formulation.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed for under normal filling conditions and the value stated on the label. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference provides headspace for the closure and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Otherwise, the contents will be forced into the thread when the cap is snapped shut or when the bottle is squeezed, and the packaging will no longer seal properly.

Useful information

Clear plastic does not protect the contents from light. For light-sensitive products – such as oils with a high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids, essential oils, or certain active ingredients – dark packaging or storage away from direct light is more suitable. For rinse-off cosmetics and products with a short usage period, transparency is more of an advantage, as it lets you see how much is left.

Compatibility with the contents should be verified. Plastic may react to concentrated essential oils, certain solvents, or products with a high alcohol content by developing surface changes, odour, or deformation. For such formulations, we recommend a short test with a fully filled container before filling an entire batch.

The flip top does not provide tamper protection during transport. When shipping finished products, we recommend verifying the seal of the filled container in a horizontal position and, if necessary, securing the cap with shrink film or a transit closure.

The bottle is designed for reuse. Once empty, simply wash it with warm water and detergent, rinse, disinfect, and leave to dry. Rinse the hinged flip-top cap separately, as product residue tends to collect inside it. When switching to a different product type, thorough cleaning is essential to prevent residues from the previous contents contaminating the new one. Avoid hot water and filling with hot mixtures, as plastic deforms at elevated temperatures. At the end of its service life, both the bottle and the cap should be placed in sorted plastic waste collection.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 1000 ml plastic bottle with flip top suitable for thick creams?
No, a flip top is not suitable for thick creams and butters. Dense contents flow through the closure opening only with great difficulty or not at all, and the bottle cannot be emptied comfortably. The set is intended for liquid and medium-viscosity products such as shampoos, shower gels, body lotions, or oils. For creams, a jar, pot, or pump bottle is more appropriate.
Does the clear plastic bottle protect the contents from light?
No, a clear bottle transmits light and does not protect the contents from it. For light-sensitive oils, essential oils, and active ingredients prone to oxidation, dark packaging or storage in a cabinet is more suitable. For rinse-off cosmetics, cleansing preparations, and products with rapid turnover, the impact of light is lower and the transparency helps to monitor the remaining quantity.
Can the 1000 ml plastic bottle with flip top be used for food?
Yes, both the bottle and the white flip top are approved for direct contact with food, so the set as a whole is suitable for home oils, syrups, herbal infusions, or extracts. Wash and dry the packaging before first use. It is not designed for hot filling, as plastic deforms at high temperatures.
How much fits in the bottle if the nominal volume is 1000 ml?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 1000 ml, not to the brim. The total capacity up to the neck is larger, and the difference serves as headspace for the closure and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. An overfilled bottle will leak into the thread when the flip top is snapped shut or when squeezed, causing the seal to fail.
Can I fill the plastic bottle with a product containing essential oils or alcohol?
Yes, at typical cosmetic concentrations this is usually fine, but we recommend testing at higher levels. Concentrated essential oils, solvents, and products with a high alcohol content can damage the plastic surface, alter its odour, or cause deformation. Fill one bottle, leave it to stand for several weeks, and monitor the seal, the appearance of the packaging, and the contents.
