Product description
A plastic jar with a volume of 1 l with a black screw cap and induction liner is packaging for larger quantities of creams, butters, scrubs or bath salts. The transparent PET material shows the contents and colour of the product, is lightweight and will not shatter if dropped, making it suitable for production, counter display and shipping. The wide neck makes it easy to fill thick textures and scoop them out. The entire set is suitable for direct food contact, making it ideal for dried herbs, salt, sugar or homemade dry mixes.
What the set is suitable for
- Body butters and thick creams – the wide neck allows you to scoop the product by hand or with a spatula and fill it without a funnel.
- Salts and scrubs – salt and sugar scrubs, bath salts and loose mixes are easy to measure from the jar, and the transparent wall shows the colour and texture.
- Masks and kaolin blends – powder face or hair masks that the customer mixes just before use.
- Food and dry ingredients – herbs, dried flowers, soap flakes, coffee beans or loose-leaf teas.
- Stock packaging in production – measured phases, semi-finished products or finished product before decanting into smaller jars.
How the set seals and dispenses
The PP cap screws onto the jar thread and holds securely even with repeated opening. The set includes an induction aluminium liner, which, after being heat-sealed with an induction device, creates a membrane at the neck. The membrane is proof of an intact seal, protects the contents from spilling or leaking during shipping and limits air access to the product. The customer removes it when first opening the jar and then uses only the cap.
The induction liner is sealed only after screwing the cap onto the filled jar. Without an induction device, it only functions as an inner liner of the cap and does not form a membrane. Before serial filling, we recommend verifying the device settings on several units to ensure the membrane adheres around the entire circumference and can be cleanly removed.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the volume for which the jar is designed under normal filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical space up to the neck. The difference between them provides a reserve for the cap with liner and for the expansion of the contents when temperature changes. The jar is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. With thick creams and butters, the contents do not reach the liner and the membrane seals onto a clean neck. The nominal volume can be found in the parameters.
What is good to know
Preparation before filling. Wash the jar and cap before first use, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Moisture inside the packaging shortens the stability of anhydrous products and causes clumping in powder mixes.
PET is not suitable for hot filling. Allow creams and butters to cool before pouring, otherwise the wall may deform and the thread will no longer seal. Butters that solidify inside the packaging should be poured in while lukewarm and left to solidify with the neck open; only then attach the cap.
Material and contents. PET tolerates oils, butters, water-based emulsions and salts well. For products with a high proportion of essential oils, solvents or strongly alkaline blends, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation, for example with a several-week test using a filled sample.
Repeated use. Both the jar and the cap can withstand repeated washing and refilling. The induction liner is single-use; once the membrane has been removed, it must be replaced with a new one.
Labelling. The smooth cylindrical wall is suitable for a wraparound label, and the flat cap can carry a round label with the product name. Label dimensions for design are in the parameters.
Closures. The set is supplied with cap and liner. Additional closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations are available from Handymade. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal integrity and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.
Recycling. The jar is made of PET and the cap of PP; both are sorted as plastic. Remove the induction liner and dispose of it separately, as it is a multi-layer material.
The jar, cap and induction liner each have their own declaration of conformity and are declared as suitable for food contact as well as cosmetic products. The same packaging therefore works for a scrub as well as a herbal blend.
