Product description

Glass bottle with a dropper for serums, oil blends and tinctures, from which the contents are dispensed drop by drop. The white glass hides the contents and limits light exposure, which you will appreciate with vegetable oils, essential oil blends and light-sensitive active ingredients. The set consists of a pharmaceutical bottle with a nominal volume of 100 ml and a dropper with a white cap and a matte silver shell. The length of the dropper is matched to the bottle, so the tube reaches deep enough even when the contents are low.

Both the bottle and the dropper are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products; you will find the declaration of conformity with the product. For home production and small batches, the 100 ml volume is a medium-sized pack: larger than a typical face serum bottle, but still comfortable to dispense with one hand.

What it is suitable for

  • Oil serums and massage oils – the dropper measures the exact amount onto the palm or directly onto the skin; glass does not absorb the odour or colour of the oil.
  • Hair and beard oils – thin oil blends are drawn up easily and dispensed drop by drop onto the ends or into the palm.
  • Tinctures and alcoholic extracts – glass is resistant to alcohol, and the white wall protects the extract from light.
  • Essential oil blends for diffusers or formulations – dispensing by drops is more accurate with concentrated fragrances than pouring from the neck.
  • Water-based serums and toners with active ingredients – sensitive ingredients stay in the dark and are dispensed accurately.

How the set dispenses and seals

The dropper has a glass tube, a silicone squeeze bulb and a cap with a matte aluminium shell. When you squeeze the bulb and release it, the tube fills, and the contents are then dispensed drop by drop. Both parts have the same thread type, so the dropper tightens onto the neck and the bottle stays tightly sealed under normal handling.

The tube draws up thin and medium-viscosity liquids without any problem. Thick oils, gels and emulsions are drawn up slowly and drops form with difficulty. A pump or a jar is more suitable for such contents.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the pharmaceutical bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume of the glass up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between them is a reserve for the dropper tube, which pushes part of the contents upwards once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes.

Fill to the nominal volume of 100 ml, not to the brim. If the bottle is full, the contents are pushed out through the thread when the dropper is fitted, and the seal stays oily.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Traces of water in an oil serum shorten its shelf life and promote the growth of microorganisms.

The set can be used repeatedly. Before each refill, check that the dropper bulb has not lost its elasticity and that the tube is not cracked. For contents that are in long-term contact with the silicone bulb, for example concentrated essential oils, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the dropper over time with your specific formulation.

Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Let the oil phase or tincture cool before filling, and do not move the bottle straight from heat into the cold.

If the dropper does not suit your product, you will find other closures with the same neck type in the Handymade range, as well as ready-made combinations of packaging plus closure. For your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal and the dispensing with your specific contents.

The bottle is made of glass and can be recycled. The dropper consists of several materials, so separate it from the bottle before recycling.

Frequently asked questions

Does the white glass pharmaceutical bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, the white glass hides the contents and limits light exposure, and the contents cannot be seen through the wall. It is therefore suitable for vegetable oils, essential oil blends and serums with light-sensitive active ingredients. The drawback is that you cannot see from the outside how much is left. Check this while dispensing by watching how the tube fills.
How many ml actually fit into a 100 ml pharmaceutical bottle with a dropper?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 100 ml. The total brimful volume is slightly higher and is stated in the parameters. This difference is a reserve for the dropper tube and the expansion of the contents. If you fill the bottle right up to the neck, the contents are pushed out through the thread when the dropper is screwed in.
Is the dropper suitable for thick oils or gels?
No, the dropper works reliably with thin and medium-viscosity liquids. Thick vegetable oils, gels and emulsions are drawn into the glass tube slowly and, instead of drops, they come out in a continuous stream or stay in the tube. For such contents, choose a pharmaceutical bottle with a pump or a jar.
Can the glass pharmaceutical bottle with a dropper be reused?
Yes, the set is designed for repeated filling. Before each further use, wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry. Check the elasticity of the silicone bulb and the integrity of the glass tube. A worn bulb draws up weakly and does not dispense accurately.
Is the white pharmaceutical bottle with a dropper suitable for alcoholic tinctures and essential oils?
Yes, both the glass of the bottle and the dropper tube are resistant to alcohol and essential oils, and the set is commonly used for tinctures and fragrance blends. The silicone bulb comes into contact with the contents when they are drawn above the edge of the tube. For concentrated essential oils, we therefore recommend verifying its behaviour over time with your specific blend.
Does a closure other than the dropper also fit this pharmaceutical bottle?
Yes, closures with the same neck type, which is stated in the parameters, fit the bottle. In the Handymade range you will find closures sold separately as well as ready-made sets of packaging plus closure. For your own combination, verify the seal and whether the dispensing method suits the viscosity of your product.
