Wooden wick 02 white is a special component intended for the production of natural candles in glass containers, jars or decorative glasses. Thanks to its rigid shape and stable burning, it is suitable for pouring into various types of waxes and provides an even flame that supports smooth fragrance release and a pleasant visual effect.
Wooden wicks are popular for crafting artisan candles because, when correctly poured and trimmed, they deliver clean burning without excessive smoking. The white colour of the wood allows for elegant and minimalist candle designs and at the same time naturally combines with various packaging and label styles.
The wooden wick is used in combination with a suitable container – a glass bottle, jar or another heat-resistant container intended for candles. When selecting the packaging, it is important to take into account the internal diameter of the container and the intended flame width. Candle containers available on Handymade are designed to be compatible with the recommended types of wicks and commonly used waxes.
The combinations of packaging and components that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test (wax behaviour, flame size, wax pool formation and aroma burning) with the specific formulation and type of container.
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The wooden wick needs to be trimmed to approximately 3–5 mm above the wax surface before each lighting so that the burning is stable and without excessive smoking. When pouring into the container, we recommend fixing the wick firmly in the centre of the bottom using a suitable wick holder or an adhesive dot intended for wicks. After the first lighting, let the candle burn long enough for a continuous wax pool to form across the entire width of the container, thereby minimising tunnelling and unused wax on the walls of the packaging.
The wooden wick is suitable for most heat-resistant containers, such as glass jars, ceramic tins or concrete jars intended for candles. When selecting the packaging, it is necessary to take into account the internal diameter of the container and the type of wax so that the flame is neither too small nor too strong. We recommend creating a test candle in the selected container and checking the flame behaviour, burning rate and wax pool formation before starting full production.
The wooden wick is compatible with several types of waxes, but its behaviour may differ depending on the viscosity, melting point and proportion of fragrance or essential oils. When changing the wax or fragrance, we always recommend carrying out a trial pour to verify the flame size, burning rate and overall safety of the candle. In some formulations it may be necessary to choose a different wick size or adjust the proportion of added fragrance substances.
After the candle has burned out, let the container cool down completely and remove the remaining wax mechanically or by carefully heating it so that the wax can be wiped off. Place the wooden remainder of the wick and the metal or adhesive holder in mixed waste. Recycle the container itself according to the material specified in the product parameters for the specific packaging (for example, glass containers in the glass recycling bin). If the container has a decorative character and is not damaged, you can reuse it for storing small items or as a decoration, always however away from an open flame.
When selecting a suitable candle container, you can use the extended filter in the packaging categories, which is located at the top of the page after clicking on the selected category. Thanks to the filters, you can narrow down the offer according to neck type, size, colour or packaging material and thus find the ideal bottle, jar or tin for a specific project. We recommend comparing several options and then creating test candles in order to verify the compatibility of the container with the wooden wick and the wax used.
