Product description
The aluminium bottle with white fine mist sprayer is a ready-made set for water-based and alcohol-based cosmetic products applied by spraying: toners, hydrosol sprays, refreshing face and body sprays or hair sprays. The bottle with a nominal volume of 225 ml is made of aluminium, which does not let light through and does not break when dropped. The contents therefore stay protected on a bathroom shelf and when carried in a bag. The white plastic sprayer with a smooth collar dispenses the contents in small doses, without unscrewing and without your hands touching the contents.
The set is supplied as a whole. The bottle and the sprayer have the same 24/410 neck finish, so they fit together and you do not need to buy anything else. Both components are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.
What it is suitable for
- Facial toners and hydrosol sprays – thin water-based products are applied evenly with the sprayer, and aluminium protects them from light, which you will appreciate with hydrosols and toners containing active ingredients.
- Refreshing and hair sprays – light sprays for the body, scalp or hair lengths, dispensed in small amounts directly where they are needed.
- Alcohol-based sprays – hand sprays or home and fabric sprays with an alcohol base.
- Sprays on the go – the unbreakable bottle is suitable for a handbag, for travelling, for the gym or for a holiday, where glass would be a risk.
The sprayer works with thin liquids. Gels, thicker emulsions and pure oils are generally not dispensed well by it, as they clog the nozzle or squirt in a stream. For such contents, a bottle with a pump or another closure is more suitable.
How to work with the set
The sprayer is screwed onto the bottle after filling. Before first use, press it several times until the tube and the mechanism fill with the contents. The tube reaches the bottom of the bottle, so almost all of the contents can be used up. If it rests on the bottom and bends when screwing on, shorten it to the required length with sharp scissors.
The product is filled into the bottle through a funnel. The aluminium bottle has a narrow neck and pouring directly from a beaker is impractical. Fill water-based and alcohol-based products only once they have cooled to room temperature.
Volume and filling
The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling, and this is the figure stated on the finished product. The total brim-full volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck, which you will find in the parameters. The packaging is deliberately designed with this difference. After the sprayer is inserted, the contents are not pushed out and they have room when they warm up.
Fill the bottle only up to the nominal volume of 225 ml, not to the brim. The difference from the total volume is a reserve for the sprayer tube and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. An overfilled bottle will overflow when the sprayer is screwed on.
Good to know
- Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Rinse the sprayer by pressing it several times with clean water and then with alcohol.
- Compatibility of the contents with aluminium – information about the internal finish of the bottle is not available. For water-based products with a low or high pH, with salts or with a higher proportion of essential oils, test how the packaging behaves with your specific recipe on a smaller sample and observe it for several weeks.
- Sprayer and essential oils – the sprayer is made of polypropylene (PP). For recipes with a higher content of essential oils or solvents, check that it seals and that the flexibility of the mechanism does not change.
- Reuse – the bottle and the sprayer can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. Rinse the sprayer after each emptying so that residues of the contents do not dry in the nozzle.
- Food contact – the set is intended for cosmetic products. Neither the bottle nor the sprayer has a food-contact certificate.
- Other closures – other closures with the same neck type from the Handymade range can also be fitted to a bottle with a 24/410 neck finish. For your own combination, check the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation.
- Recycling – before disposal, separate the plastic sprayer from the aluminium bottle, as each component belongs in a different material stream.
Do not expose the aluminium bottle to strong impacts or squeeze it. The material does not break, but it becomes permanently deformed, and a deformed neck will stop sealing with the sprayer.
