The brown plastic bottle with black flip top cap is a complete packaging and closure set with a volume of 300 ml, ready for filling. The brown PET tint reduces light exposure to the contents, which is beneficial for products containing vegetable oils, extracts or essential oils that lose stability more quickly in light. The black flip top cap dispenses the contents directly from the bottle without unscrewing.

The set is especially suitable for liquid and medium-viscosity products that are dispensed repeatedly and in small amounts: shampoos, shower gels, conditioners, body lotions, liquid soaps, micellar waters or massage oils. The 300 ml volume corresponds to standard bathroom packaging that is used up within a few weeks.

Use in practice

The flip top is designed for products that flow or can be squeezed out with gentle pressure on the bottle walls. Thin, watery contents (tonics, micellar waters, oils) flow out easily, so dispense them carefully. Medium-viscosity gels, shampoos and body lotions dispense comfortably and cleanly. Very thick creams or butters are not suitable for this type of closure, as they are difficult to squeeze out of the bottle and tend to remain in the neck.

When filling, distinguish between nominal volume and total volume to the brim. The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for during standard filling. The total volume is the physical space up to the neck. The difference between them provides a buffer for the cap and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise there is a risk of spillage when closing or when squeezing.

The set is suitable for repeated use. When changing the contents, thoroughly rinse the bottle, disinfect and dry it. Also rinse the area under the flip part of the cap, where product residues tend to accumulate.

Good to know

PET tolerates aqueous solutions, diluted alcohol, surfactant blends and common vegetable oils well. It is more sensitive to higher concentrations of essential oils, fragrance compositions and aggressive solvents, which may over time soften or cloud the container wall. For products with a high proportion of fragrance components, we recommend testing the packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.

The PP cap has a declaration of suitability for contact with cosmetic products. No such declaration is available for the bottle itself; the bottle is supplied in cosmetic and technical quality. The set as a whole is not intended for contact with food.

When labelling, account for the cylindrical shape of the bottle body, which allows both wraparound and front labels to be used. At end of life, both the bottle and cap belong in sorted plastics recycling; for better recyclability, separate the cap from the bottle.
