A ready-made bottle and closure set for cosmetics dispensed by squeezing: a brown plastic bottle with a nominal volume of 100 ml and a black flip top cap with the same 24/410 neck. The set is intended for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic preparations used repeatedly and in smaller amounts – shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, body lotions or massage oils in travel or sample packaging.

The brown plastic reduces light reaching the contents, helping to protect formulations with vegetable oils, essential oils and antioxidants from light degradation. The bottle is made of PET, making it light and shatter-resistant, which suits bathrooms, travel and shipping to customers. The flip top opens with a single thumb movement and when closed protects the opening from drying out and contamination. Contents are dispensed without unscrewing and without hand contact with the neck.

What the set is suitable for

The flip top is designed for contents that can be dispensed by squeezing the bottle. It works best with more viscous formulations: gel cleansers, shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, body lotions and lighter creamy emulsions. The consistency of the contents determines dispensing accuracy – a thicker gel produces a continuous stream, while a more liquid content flows out more at once.

It is also well suited for oils – massage, body and shower oils or oil serums where precise drop-by-drop dispensing is not required. For very liquid contents such as facial waters, hydrolates or tonics, the flip top is usable, but the contents flow out quickly when tilted. For these preparations, a spray pump with the same neck type may be more suitable.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. Neither the bottle nor the cap has food contact certification, so the set is not intended for filling food, edible oils or herbal syrups.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is designed for normal filling, and the packaging is labelled accordingly. Total brim volume is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference serves as a reserve for the closure and for the expansion of the contents when temperature changes or the bottle is squeezed. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim – an overfilled bottle will overflow when the cap is applied and on the first squeeze. What is good to know before filling

Before first use, we recommend rinsing and disinfecting both the bottle and cap with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing them to dry completely. Residual water in the packaging would dilute the formulation and increases the risk of microbial growth in insufficiently preserved preparations. Fill through the neck without the cap, ideally using a funnel or a dispensing bottle with a narrow opening, so that the thread stays clean and the cap seats properly.

The packaging is not intended for aggressive chemicals. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol or solvents, we recommend first testing the behaviour of the packaging on a trial sample – concentrated fragrance components can cloud, soften or absorb odours into the plastic over time. The packaging does not replace preservation; water-based preparations must be preserved on their own.

The flip top cap is made of polypropylene and its hinge withstands normal repeated opening. Tightness during transport depends on whether the lid is snapped fully shut. When shipping to customers, we recommend turning the set upside down and squeezing it to confirm the contents do not leak.

The set can be reused after washing and drying, provided the packaging shows no traces of previous fragrance or cloudiness. For recycling, separate the PET bottle from the PP cap, as they are two different types of plastic.
