Combining with caps and dispensers

FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Can this glass medicine bottle be used repeatedly?

Yes, the bottle can be reused, provided you follow basic hygiene principles. Before each new filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the packaging and then disinfecting it with a suitable alcoholic solution, for example using the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. Only after cleaning and drying is the packaging ready for further safe use.

How should I correctly clean the bottle before first use?

Before the first filling, we recommend rinsing the bottle with clean water and a suitable cleaning agent, then rinsing it very thoroughly so that no detergent residues remain in the packaging. After washing, it is advisable to disinfect the packaging with alcohol (e.g. IPA or ethanol) and allow it to dry completely. This minimises the risk of microbial contamination and any impact on the fragrance or colour of the product.

How should I safely dispose of and recycle this packaging if I do not want to continue using it?

If you decide not to reuse the bottle, we recommend first emptying it and removing any remaining contents. The glass container can then be placed in the appropriate glass recycling container according to local waste sorting rules, and the cap is sorted according to the material specified in the product parameters. Before handing it over for collection, it is advisable to at least roughly rinse the packaging so that no heavily contaminating residues remain inside.

Is this bottle suitable also for products with a higher content of essential oils or alcohol?

Glass packaging is in general very suitable for formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils or alcohol, since glass is resistant and stable towards these substances. For the final product, however, we always recommend carrying out trial filling and short-term storage in order to verify the behaviour of the specific recipe, especially in combination with the selected type of closure or dispensing.
