The bottle with flip top closure is designed primarily for liquid to medium-viscosity products, such as body and facial lotions, gels and liquid soaps. For thicker formulations, we always recommend performing a trial filling and testing whether the product flows smoothly through the closure opening and whether the dispensing suits the intended mode of application.

The packaging can be reused provided that basic hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly washed, rinsed and subsequently disinfected, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol intended for cosmetic use. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99 – isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 denatured, available on Handymade.sk in the raw materials category: IPA 99 isopropyl alcohol 1 l and Ethanol 96 denatured plant-based 1 l. After disinfection, allow the container and closure to dry thoroughly in order to prevent dilution or deterioration of the new filling.

Before new filling, we recommend rinsing the bottle with warm (not boiling) water and a suitable cleaning agent, thoroughly removing residues of the previous product and rinsing several times with clean water. Subsequently it is advisable to disinfect the inner surface and the closure with an alcohol solution (e.g. IPA 99 or ethanol 96 denatured) and leave to dry in the air. Use moderate water temperatures to avoid excessive thermal stress on the plastic and a reduction of its service life.

Plastic packaging of this type is not intended for long-term exposure to high temperatures, nor for boiling or washing in a dishwasher. Under excessive thermal load, the walls may deform, the closure seal may deteriorate or the mechanical properties of the material may change. Therefore, do not use boiling water for disinfection, but rather alcohol solutions and milder temperatures, in order to preserve the functionality of the bottle and closure.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend its responsible recycling in accordance with the information given in the parameter table for the product on Handymade.sk. Before placing it in separated collection, remove any product residues, rinse the bottle and sort it into the container intended for the given type of plastic according to local recycling rules. The closure is usually made from a different type of plastic than the body of the container, therefore it is advisable to separate it and sort it according to the instructions of the relevant collection company.
