FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Is this plastic bottle suitable for repeated use?

Yes, the spray bottle can be reused provided that proper hygiene principles are observed. Before every new filling it is necessary to thoroughly rinse and clean the container and the spray pump and then disinfect them, ideally using a suitable alcohol, for example IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based. After applying the disinfectant, allow all parts to dry completely at room temperature and only then refill the bottle, in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination of the product.

How should I properly clean and maintain the spray pump so that it does not become clogged?

To maintain the full functionality of the spray pump, we recommend that after the contents have been used up, you rinse the container and the mechanism with lukewarm water and, if necessary, use a mild cleaning agent compatible with the plastic. It is then advisable to flush the mechanism by drawing in clean water or diluted alcohol and pressing the spray pump several times so that the internal capillary is rinsed. Avoid thick emulsions or blends with a high content of insoluble particles, which can permanently damage the dispensing system and cause clogging or uneven spraying.

Can I use this bottle with hot or freshly cooked preparations?

The plastic material of this container is not intended for contact with hot or freshly cooked mixtures. When exposed to high temperatures, deformation of the packaging, an effect on shape stability and a shortened service life of the spray pump may occur. The packaging is not suitable for washing in a dishwasher or for boiling. Always wait until the prepared product has reached room temperature and only then pour it into the bottle, to prevent damage to the container and the dispensing mechanism.

How can I recycle this bottle if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to reuse the bottle, we recommend that you recycle it responsibly according to the type of plastic indicated in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade website. Before handing it over for separate collection, empty the container, rinse out product residues and, if possible, separate the individual parts (bottle, spray pump, cap) from each other. Then place them in the appropriate container according to the material marking. Correct sorting enables more efficient processing of the plastic and helps to reduce the environmental burden.
