Product description
A plastic bottle for detergent with a matte black flip-top cap is a complete set for liquid soaps, detergents and cleaning products that are dispensed one-handed directly from the bottle. The 500 ml capacity matches typical consumption in the bathroom, kitchen or workshop – liquid hand soap, dishwashing liquid, shower gel, shampoo, surface cleaner or liquid laundry detergent in a smaller size.
The bottle is made of PET plastic, it is lightweight and shatterproof, making it suitable even where glass would be a risk. The transparent wall shows the colour of the contents and the current fill level, so the user can see how much product is left. The matte black flip-top cap forms a neutral combination with the clear bottle that lets the label and the product itself stand out. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics; it is not intended for contact with food.
Key benefits
- One-handed dispensing – the lid flips open with a thumb, the contents are squeezed out by pressing the bottle, and the lid snaps back shut. When washing hands or dishes, there is nothing to unscrew or set aside.
- Lightweight and shatterproof packaging – a PET bottle weighs a fraction of glass of the same volume, withstands a drop on a hard floor, and saves on shipping costs.
- Visible contents – the transparent material shows the colour of the product, pearlescent or gel effects, and the remaining quantity.
- Squeezable wall – the bottle is sufficiently pliable for comfortable dispensing of gels and thicker soaps, and returns to shape when released.
- Ready-to-use combination – the bottle and cap share the same neck type, the closure fits without trial and error, and the set does not need to be assembled from separate parts.
How the flip-top closure works
The cap is screwed onto the neck and remains on the bottle permanently. Only the small flip-open lid is opened, closing the dispensing hole. The lid is connected to the cap body by a hinge, so it cannot be lost, and when snapped shut it holds the contents inside the bottle. The product is dispensed through the small opening in a thin stream or drop by drop, depending on how hard the bottle is squeezed.
Flip-top closures perform best with thicker contents – gel soaps, shampoos, detergents, creamy shower gels. Very thin, watery liquids tend to leak more easily from the dispensing opening when the bottle is accidentally pressed or tipped over. For these, we recommend verifying the seal before dispatch and adjusting the product consistency if needed.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed to hold during normal filling, and this is the volume stated on the label. The total volume to the brim is larger – it is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them forms a reserve for the thread and cap, for the air space above the fill level, and for expansion of the contents when temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle will overflow uncontrollably when the cap is screwed on and at the first squeeze.
Filling and container preparation
Before the first filling, we recommend rinsing and sanitising the bottles with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leaving them to dry completely upside down. The cap should be treated the same way, including the hinge and the dispensing opening, where moisture can collect. Fill with cooled product; PET is not intended for hot filling.
When filling thick soaps and gels, let the product stand for a few minutes after dispensing to allow air bubbles to escape, then screw on the cap. This way the bottle is not overfilled and will not squirt at the first squeeze.
After thorough washing and drying, the bottle can be reused, for example as a refillable liquid soap container. When reusing, check that the lid hinge is not cracked and that the cap still seals properly on the neck. The smooth bottle wall is suitable for self-adhesive labels.
Good to know
PET tolerates common surfactant and soap bases used in cleaning products well. It is more sensitive to concentrated essential oils, solvents and strong fragrance compositions, which may cloud, soften or cause bulging of the wall over time. For products with a higher proportion of fragrance, alcohol or solvents, we recommend a stability test – leave a filled bottle at room temperature for several weeks and check the shape, clarity of the wall, and the seal of the cap.
The bottle is not intended for aggressive chemicals or hot contents. The transparent material does not protect the product from light; store preparations containing dyes or plant extracts sensitive to light away from direct sunlight or choose a tinted container.
The bottle is made of PET and the cap of PP. Before recycling, simply separate them and place the empty packaging in the plastics waste stream according to local rules.
