Product description

The clear PET bottle with a black pump dispenser is a ready-to-use set for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products dispensed in small doses: face and body lotions, serums, light emulsions, cleansing gels, and hair preparations. One pump stroke delivers approximately 0.2 ml, making it suitable for products where a small amount is sufficient and precise application matters.

The bottle is made of PET, which is lightweight and shatter-resistant. The packaging is therefore suitable for the bathroom, travel, and shipments where glass would be an unnecessary risk. The clear material reveals the colour and texture of the contents, and the remaining product is visible at a glance. The dust cap protects the pump head against accidental activation and dust.

Why choose a pump bottle

  • Hygienic dispensing – the contents are never touched by fingers and the bottle stays closed during use, reducing the risk of contamination.
  • Consistent dosing – each press delivers a similar amount, which makes using concentrated products such as serums easier.
  • Low weight and durability – PET does not crack on impact and reduces shipment weight compared to glass.
  • Visible contents – the clear wall suits coloured, two-phase, or otherwise visually distinctive products.

Which products is this set suitable for

The small-dose pump works best with liquid to medium-viscosity textures: lotions, thin creams, gels, serums, and liquid cleansers. Very thick creams, butters, and balms will not draw reliably through the pump; a jar is more appropriate for those. Very thin aqueous solutions such as tonics and hydrolates are more conveniently applied with a spray bottle.

The clear packaging does not protect the contents from light. Products containing light-sensitive ingredients — such as certain vegetable oils, extracts, or vitamins — should therefore be stored away from direct sunlight or in an opaque container.

Before first use, the pump must be primed by pressing it several times until it fills and begins dispensing. With thicker textures, it is worth testing dispensing on a small sample before filling an entire batch.

Nominal and total volume

The volume stated in the product name is the nominal volume — the quantity the bottle is designed to hold under normal filling conditions. The total volume to the neck rim is slightly larger. This difference serves as a buffer: the pump with its dip tube takes up some space once screwed in, and the product expands slightly with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the contents may overflow during closing or be forced into the thread.

What to know before filling

Both the bottle and the pump should be washed, sanitised with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allowed to dry completely before first use. For the pump, run the sanitising solution through the mechanism with several strokes and allow it to evaporate.

PET does not tolerate high temperatures. Fill the product only after it has cooled down; hot contents or boiling may deform the bottle.

For products with a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol, or other solvents, the behaviour of the plastic should be verified on a test sample over several weeks. Check whether the bottle deforms or becomes cloudy and whether the pump seals properly.

Suitability for contact with cosmetic products is declared for the bottle; a declaration of conformity is available on the product page. The smooth cylindrical wall makes label application straightforward, and the dimensions needed for label design are listed in the specifications.

Additional closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations are available from Handymade. When assembling your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing performance, and compatibility of the packaging with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

What products is the 100 ml plastic pump bottle suitable for?
The pump bottle is particularly suited to liquid and medium-viscosity cosmetic products such as face and body lotions, serums, light creams, and cleansing gels. One press delivers approximately 0.2 ml, making it practical for products applied in small amounts. For very thick creams and butters, a jar is more appropriate; for thin tonics and hydrolates, a spray bottle is preferable.
Does the clear PET bottle protect the contents from light?
No, the clear PET bottle transmits light and does not protect the contents from it. For products containing light-sensitive ingredients — such as certain vegetable oils or extracts — storage in a cupboard or box away from direct sunlight is recommended. If the product will be exposed to light for an extended period, a coloured container is a better choice.
Can the plastic pump bottle be reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the pump can be reused provided they are thoroughly cleaned before refilling. Wash the bottle with warm water and detergent, sanitise with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry. Rinse the pump by running warm water through it, followed by a sanitising solution. Boiling is not suitable — PET deforms under heat.
Can a PET bottle be filled with a product containing essential oils or alcohol?
Standard cosmetic products with a low content of essential oils or alcohol are commonly filled into PET bottles, although compatibility depends on the specific formulation and concentration. A high proportion of essential oils or solvents may cause the plastic to soften or become cloudy over time. A test sample monitored over several weeks before filling an entire batch is therefore recommended.
Is the plastic pump bottle suitable for food use?
No, this set is not approved for contact with food and is intended for cosmetic and technical use only. For oils, syrups, or other food products, a container with food-contact suitability explicitly stated in its specifications must be used.
