Product description

A tall transparent plastic bottle with a pump dispenser with a capacity of 100 ml is a ready-to-use complete set for cosmetics dispensed in small amounts with one hand: serums, light lotions and oils. The PET bottle is lightweight and shatter-resistant, making it suitable for bathroom use and travel. The clear material reveals the colour of the contents and shows how much product remains in the bottle.

The white-and-gold dispenser delivers a small, consistent dose with each press, making the product easy to measure without reaching fingers into the bottle. The cap protects the pump head from dust and accidental activation in a bag or suitcase.

How the set dispenses

One press of the pump head delivers approximately 0.2 ml of product. This dose is well suited for products applied sparingly: for a serum or facial oil, one to two presses is typically enough for the face, while for a body lotion the dose can simply be repeated.

The dispenser draws the contents through a tube from the bottom of the bottle. This is not an airless system; as product is removed, air enters the bottle in its place. This should be taken into account at the formulation stage for products sensitive to oxidation.

The dispenser tube is longer than the bottle, so trim it at an angle before fitting so it ends just above the bottom. The angled end prevents it from suctioning to the base and allows the bottle to be emptied with almost no residue.

Which products it suits

  • Serums and light emulsions – thin to medium-thick textures flow through the dispenser smoothly and the small dose matches the way they are applied.
  • Facial, body and hair oils – the dispenser measures out oil without dripping down the neck, keeping the bottle clean.
  • Cleansing oils and milks – can be dispensed directly onto a cotton pad or into the palm.
  • Liquid conditioners and leave-in hair care – products where a small and precise amount matters.

Less suitable are thick creams and butters, which the dispenser cannot draw up, and products with solid particles (scrubs, clay suspensions), which may clog the mechanism.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended to hold under standard filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference between them is not extra space for product, but a headspace allowance built into the filling process.

What to know before filling

Before the first fill, wash the bottle, rinse it and sanitise it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, then allow it to dry completely. The dispenser is cleaned by pumping through: run a sanitising solution through it several times, then press it empty to remove any residue.

PET is not intended for hot filling or sterilisation by boiling. Allow emulsions and oils to cool before filling. Concentrated essential oils and strong solvents may degrade the plastic, so verify the compatibility of the packaging with a specific formulation by conducting a test fill.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products and is intended for cosmetics.

Apply the label to a dry and degreased surface; the bottle dimensions needed for label design are listed in the specifications. The bottle and dispenser share the same neck type stated in the specifications. Additional closures with this neck and ready-made combinations are available from Handymade. For custom combinations, we recommend verifying seal integrity and dispensing performance.

An empty PET bottle belongs in plastic recycling. The dispenser is made from multiple materials, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

What products is the 100 ml plastic bottle with pump dispenser suitable for?
It is best suited for thin to medium-thick cosmetic products dispensed in small amounts: serums, facial and body oils, light lotions and cleansing preparations. The dispenser delivers a small, consistent dose with each press. Thick creams and products with solid particles are not suitable for this packaging, as the mechanism cannot draw them up or becomes clogged.
Does the transparent plastic bottle with pump dispenser protect the contents from light?
No, clear PET transmits light and does not protect the contents from it. Formulations with plant oils prone to yellowing and oxidation, natural colorants or light-sensitive active ingredients should therefore be stored in the dark or in a box. If the product is to stand in light for extended periods, a dark-coloured packaging is a better choice for such a formulation.
Why is the 100 ml bottle with pump dispenser not filled to the top?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume because the space above the fill line is a necessary headspace. After screwing on the pump dispenser, the mechanism and tube displace part of the volume, and the contents expand at higher temperatures. A bottle filled to the brim would overflow during closure, contaminating the thread and compromising the seal.
Can the plastic bottle with pump dispenser be cleaned and reused?
Yes, the bottle can be refilled after washing, sanitising with alcohol and allowing it to dry completely. The dispenser is harder to clean: pump warm water with a cleaning agent through it, followed by alcohol, and allow it to dry. When switching product types or for products intended for sale, using a new dispenser is the more hygienic option.
Why does the dispenser on a plastic bottle not dispense immediately after filling?
A new dispenser has its mechanism and tube filled with air, so it needs to be pressed several times before it draws up the product and begins dispensing evenly. If it still does not dispense after that, the contents are usually too thick or the tube does not reach below the surface. Check the length and seating of the tube. For very thick textures, a jar or a different closure type is more suitable.
