Product description

The essential oil Bay Leaf is produced by steam distillation of the leaves of the plant Laurus nobilis. It is known for its effects on the nervous system. It has antispasmodic and analgesic properties. Together with its sedative properties, it is used in states of anxiety, depression and fear. It stimulates, strengthens self-confidence and supports inspiration. It has a fresh, strong, pungent yet sweet scent, with a hint of camphor.

It is not recommended for use during pregnancy or for children under 2 years of age. It is non-toxic, but may be irritating and sensitising, therefore do not use it in massage preparations or in the bath if you are prone to allergies or have sensitive skin.

All supplied raw materials are of cosmetic grade, not suitable for internal use. Use appropriate protective equipment when handling.

Contained allergens: Limonene, linalool

WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?

Essential oils, also called ethereal oils, are natural aromatic substances that come from various parts of plants – trunks, roots, seeds, flowers, leaves, etc. They give plants their characteristic fragrance and, in addition, also have therapeutic and protective effects. They have a very positive effect on symptoms on the physical, emotional or mental level.

Their chemical composition is fairly complex. The essences are obtained from plants most often by distillation, extraction or pressing. Essential oils are highly concentrated and are applied directly to the skin only after dilution with carrier vegetable oils (almond, apricot kernel, jojoba, etc.). The only exception is the essential oil of tea tree and lavender, which you can apply directly.

Use essential oils for inhalation or in your cosmetic products; the consumption of any essential oils of any brands is not recommended.

Essential oils are fat-soluble, therefore if you want to use them in products without oils and butters, use a solvent /solubiliser/.

HOW DO I USE THE ESSENTIAL OIL?

Cosmetics and soap making – the required amount of essential oil depends on the specific recipe and the quantity produced.
Inhalation, steaming – drip a few drops of essential oil into an aroma lamp, diffuser or into a container with hot water.
Bath – mix the drops of oil in a base oil /coconut, olive.../, in 1 dl of milk or in a teaspoon of honey, pour this mixture into the bathtub. Essential oils alone are not soluble in water, the drops would float on the surface.
Massage – add a few drops of essential oil to cold-pressed vegetable oil (approx. 50 ml) and mix well. Enjoy a pleasant massage.
Sauna – you can choose from conifers, rosemary, eucalyptus, sage, mint or citrus fragrances. The number of drops depends on the size of the sauna and your taste.

Essential oils are also popular for use in skin care, local compresses, hair masks, oral hygiene care...
