The 10 ml glass bottle with dropper is used for dispensing liquid cosmetic preparations drop by drop. The black opaque glass protects the contents from light, so it suits preparations that lose their effectiveness or scent in light: face and oil serums, blends with essential oils, treatment oils for nails and the surrounding skin, or beard oils. The volume suits samples, travel packs and preparations with a higher concentration of active ingredients, where only a few drops are used per day.

How the set dispenses and seals

The dropper consists of a glass tube, a squeezable silicone part and a threaded cap that screws directly onto the neck of the bottle. The length of the tube is matched to this medicine bottle and reaches almost to the bottom, so the contents can be drawn up even at a low level. One squeeze draws up several drops.

With oil-based contents the dropper dispenses evenly. Water-based and alcohol-based preparations with low viscosity flow out faster. Test how many drops one squeeze releases and adjust the directions for use accordingly. Check how tightly the closure seals with your specific formulation when carrying the bottle in a bag or while travelling, especially with very thin liquids.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 10 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling and which is stated on the label. The total brimful volume, stated in the parameters, is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the inserted dropper tube and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

Suitability for cosmetics and food

The set as a whole is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. You will find the declaration of conformity with the product. Only the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food. The dropper does not have one, so the set is not intended for food and is used exclusively for cosmetic preparations.

Good to know

• Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water in the dropper tube would get into an anhydrous oil or serum.
• Contents not visible – the level cannot be checked through the black glass. It helps your customer if you state the approximate number of doses on the label. When making products for yourself, it is enough to shake the bottle occasionally and estimate what is left.
• Glass and heat – do not fill the bottle with the hot phase and do not expose it to sudden temperature changes. Fill it after the preparation has cooled to room temperature.
• Essential oils and silicone – with highly concentrated blends of essential oils or contents containing solvents, check how the squeezable part of the dropper behaves after prolonged contact.
• Reuse – the glass and the dropper can be used again after thorough washing and disinfection. After oil-based contents, wash the silicone part in warm water with detergent to remove the oil film.

• Recycling – the bottle goes into glass recycling; the dropper consists of several materials and should be separated from the bottle before disposal.
