Gloss Black Glass Bottle, Black Cap with Inner Dropper, 10 ml

A small glass vial made of black glossy glass, supplied together with a plastic dropper and a black screw cap. Black glass lets through minimal light, making the set suitable for contents that light gradually degrades: essential oils and their blends, oil perfumes, facial and beard oils, cuticle oils, or small batches of oil serums. The 10 ml volume is also suitable for samples, test batches, and products used drop by drop.

The glossy black glass with a black cap works as one cohesive unit and pairs well with both colourful and simple labels.

How the set works

The dropper is pressed into the neck of the bottle and the cap screws directly onto it. The contents are then dispensed drop by drop by tilting the bottle, without a pump. The dropper is in a long version and reaches deeper into the neck. The cap covers the dropper and protects the opening from dust between uses.

When dispensing, hold the bottle at an angle and give the drop a moment. The drop size depends on the viscosity of the contents, so when dosing by number of drops, first measure how many drops your oil yields per millilitre.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended for under normal filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume of the glass up to the neck. The difference between them forms a reserve for the dropper, which takes up some space when pressed into the neck, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle is filled to the nominal volume. If overfilled, the contents leak out when the dropper is inserted and contaminate the thread.

Contact with cosmetics and food

The set as a whole is declared as suitable for cosmetic products, the declaration of conformity is available with the product. The glass bottle alone has a certificate for direct food contact. The dropper and cap do not have one, so the set as a whole is not intended for food use.

Good to know

• Glass and heat – do not fill the bottle with hot contents and do not expose it to sudden temperature differences.
• Plastic parts and strong contents – the dropper made of PP and the cap made of PE can handle common vegetable and essential oils. With concentrated citrus essential oils, solvents, or a high alcohol content, check the tightness and appearance of the dropper with your specific formulation after a few weeks.
• Thick contents – very thick oils and butters pass through the dropper slowly. For these, it is better to fill without the dropper or choose a different closure.
• Reuse – the bottle can be refilled after thorough cleaning and disinfection. For repeated refilling, it is advisable to replace the dropper, as after being removed from the neck it may no longer fit as firmly.
• Different closure – closures with the same neck type fit the bottle; ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. With your own combination, check the seal and dispensing with your specific formulation.
• Recycling – the bottle goes in glass recycling, the dropper and cap are separated before disposal and sorted as plastic.
