Product description

This green glass bottle, 30 ml, with a matte silver dropper is designed for filling and dispensing liquid cosmetic products drop by drop. Green glass filters part of the light reaching the contents, so the set is suitable for facial serums, facial oils, essential oil blends and tinctures, that is, for products where the exact amount matters. The bottle and the dropper have the same neck finish, so you do not need to buy or check the closure separately.

What it is suitable for

A volume of 30 ml is a common format for products that are applied in a few drops and used up gradually.

  • Facial and oil serums – the dropper dispenses exactly as much as the skin needs, without spilling from the neck.
  • Essential oil blends and perfume concentrates – tinted glass and drop-by-drop dispensing match the way concentrates are handled.
  • Tinctures and alcohol extracts – glass does not react with alcohol, and the dropper makes it easier to measure a dose into a toner or mask.
  • Samples and test batches – the small volume is enough for a trial quantity of a new recipe or for a gift pack.

How to use the set

The dropper consists of a glass tube, a silicone bulb and a cap with an aluminium shell in a matte silver colour and a white inner part. Squeeze the bulb before dipping the dropper into the contents; when you release it, the tube fills, and once you take it out, gentle pressure on the bulb releases the liquid drop by drop. The cap screws onto the neck in the same way as a standard threaded closure.

When filling, you need to distinguish between two volumes. The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck, which you can find in the parameters. The difference is a reserve for the dropper tube, which displaces part of the contents upwards when screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes.

Fill up to the nominal volume of 30 ml, not to the brim. The contents will then not overflow through the neck when the dropper is screwed in, and the bulb will not fill with liquid.

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let it dry completely. Rinse the glass tube of the dropper in the same way; it is enough to wipe the bulb on the outside. Otherwise, residues of water or alcohol could get into the product, which is a problem especially for anhydrous oil blends.

Good to know

  • Glass and heat – do not fill with hot solutions and do not expose the bottle to sudden temperature changes, as the glass may crack.
  • Bulb and concentrates – for undiluted essential oils and solvents, we recommend checking how the silicone bulb behaves on the first batch.
  • Viscosity of the contents – the dropper comfortably dispenses liquid and slightly viscous products. It draws up thick oils and gels slowly and may not suck them in reliably.
  • Reuse – after thorough washing and drying, the bottle and the dropper can be used again; check the bulb before the next filling.
  • Other closures – you can find closures with the same neck finish and ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, check the tightness and dispensing.
  • Recycling – the bottle belongs in glass recycling; the dropper combines several materials, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. It is not approved for contact with food, so do not use it for homemade oils or syrups.

Frequently asked questions

Does the green glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Partially; green glass filters part of the incident light. For common serums, oils and tinctures stored out of direct sunlight, this is sufficient. Products with light-sensitive active ingredients are better stored in the dark, regardless of the colour of the glass.
How much liquid fits into a 30 ml bottle with a dropper?
Under normal filling, 30 ml, which is the nominal volume of the packaging. The physical volume up to the brim is larger and you can find it in the parameters, but this reserve is taken up by the dropper tube once it is screwed in and by the contents expanding when warm. Filling above the nominal volume results in leaking through the neck and liquid getting into the bulb.
Is the dropper suitable for essential oils and alcohol tinctures?
Yes, the glass tube and the bottle resist them without any problem. The silicone bulb deserves attention: it does not come into contact with the contents during normal dispensing, but for undiluted concentrates we recommend checking how it behaves on the first batch. After use, empty the bulb so that no liquid remains in it.
Can a glass medicine bottle with a dropper be reused?
Yes, after washing, disinfecting and drying completely. The glass parts withstand thorough cleaning, the bulb is cleaned only on the outside, and before the next filling check that it is not softened or cracked. When you change the contents, it is better to replace the dropper so that fragrances and residues do not mix.
Is the dropper also suitable for thick oils?
Only to a limited extent; the dropper is designed for liquid and slightly viscous products. It draws up thick oils such as castor oil, butter blends or gels slowly, and the drops fall unevenly. For such products, a bottle with a pump or a jar is more suitable; thin serums and light oils are dispensed precisely by the dropper.
