Product description
Glass bottle, dropper bottle, silver matte dropper, 30 ml
The set of an amber glass bottle in a dropper-bottle shape with a volume of 30 ml and a glass dropper with a matte silver collar is intended for products that are dispensed drop by drop and need protection from light. Amber glass reduces the amount of light reaching the contents, which is essential for anything that loses its effectiveness or oxidizes when exposed to light. The dropper allows for precise dosing, without spilling and without unnecessary contact of the contents with air.
The set is intended for leave-on products in small doses: facial serums, facial and hair oils, blends with essential oils, tinctures and alcohol extracts, oil extracts or concentrates of active ingredients. Both the bottle and the dropper are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. A certificate for direct contact with food is held separately by the glass bottle; the set with the dropper as a whole is intended for cosmetics.
Why amber glass and a dropper
Protection from light – amber glass blocks most of the light that could break down sensitive ingredients. This helps especially with oils that have a higher proportion of unsaturated fatty acids, with vitamins, plant extracts and with blends containing essential oils.
Inertness of glass – glass does not react with the contents, does not absorb scent or color and does not release anything from its material into the contents. It is therefore also suitable for alcohol-based and oil-based preparations that could affect some plastics.
Precise dosing – the glass tube of the dropper reaches almost to the bottom of the bottle, so the contents can be used up without tilting. The silicone bulb operates smoothly and the dose is easy to control drop by drop, which is important for serums and concentrates both for consumption and for the customer's impression.
Appearance – the matte silver collar with a white bulb looks clean and neutral. It pairs well with amber glass as well as with a label in natural or minimalist colors.
What the set is suitable for
- Facial serums – both water-based and oil-based, where a few drops are dispensed per use.
- Facial, hair and nail oils – single-ingredient plant oils as well as blends, where dark glass slows down yellowing.
- Blends with essential oils – diluted in a carrier oil, for example massage or aromatic blends for the skin.
- Tinctures and alcohol extracts – alcohol does not harm glass and the dropper allows small amounts to be dispensed.
- Samples and test batches – the 30 ml volume is practical for trial products and for presenting a new item.
The dropper is not suitable for thick creams, pastes or products applied in larger amounts. It is likewise not suitable for contents with solid particles that would clog the dropper tube.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is intended for under normal filling and which is stated on the label. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the dropper tube, which pushes part of the contents upward once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with changes in temperature. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, the contents are pushed through the thread once the dropper is attached and the closure does not seal. Both values are given in the parameters.
During the first filling, check the correct fill level: fill the bottle to the nominal volume, attach the dropper and check whether the contents have risen to the neck. Mark the level determined this way and fill according to it.
What is good to know before filling
Preparing the packaging – before first use, wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based or anhydrous product is the most common cause of spoilage.
Tightness – the dropper seals on the thread of the collar, but during transport it is not as safe as a solid cap. We recommend transporting products upright and, with thinner contents, especially alcohol-based ones, verifying the tightness directly with the specific formulation.
Heat and glass – glass tolerates heat well, but not a sudden change in temperature. Do not pour hot contents into a cold bottle or vice versa. Let the contents cool at least to a lukewarm temperature before filling.
Reuse – the bottle can be reused after washing and disinfection. With the dropper, check the bulb and replace it if it has softened or lost its elasticity.
Label – the cylindrical dropper-bottle shape allows a wrap-around label to be applied.
Recycling – the bottle is made of glass and, once empty, belongs in glass waste. The dropper combines metal, plastic, silicone and glass, so unscrew it before sorting and sort it separately.
Undiluted essential oils and aggressive solvents can over time affect the silicone bulb and the seal of the dropper. For such contents we recommend a trial filling and a check after several weeks, or choosing a different closure.
Closures with the same neck type, stated in the parameters, and other ready-made combinations of the bottle with a closure can be found in the Handymade range.
