PET plastic bottle represents a practical, lightweight and durable packaging suitable for packing various liquid cosmetic products and other formulations. The transparent material allows good visual control of the contents, which is appreciated by manufacturers as well as users when dosing and monitoring consumption. Thanks to its well-thought-out shape, the bottle is stable, ergonomic in the hand and suitable for home as well as artisan brands.

The packaging is designed to work well with various types of closures and dispensing systems, which makes it possible to adapt the use to a specific product – from low-viscosity products to thicker emulsions. PET material is characterized by good clarity, reasonable strength and low weight, making it ideal also for shipping parcels and travel-size packaging.

Combining with closures and dispensers

Bottles from this series are compatible with various types of closures and dispensing options (for example screw caps, droppers, sprayers or practical applicators) according to the selected parameters. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation) to verify that the packaging meets the exact requirements of your product.

Since this is packaging made of PET plastic, we recommend following the basic principles of safe use of the material. PET material should not be exposed to high temperatures at which there is a risk of packaging deformation. For this reason, the packaging is not suitable for washing in a dishwasher or for boiling – its shape, neck tightness or thread functionality may change. Therefore, for cleaning use gentle hand washing and subsequent disinfection with suitable products according to the instructions below.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Is it possible to use this plastic bottle repeatedly?

The bottle can be used repeatedly if you follow basic hygiene principles and the packaging is still in good condition after previous use (no cracks, deformations or damaged thread). Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected, ideally using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection, you can use, for example, products such as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based, always following the manufacturer's recommendations. After applying the disinfectant, let the packaging ventilate thoroughly and dry so that no alcohol residues remain in it. PET material is not suitable for boiling or washing in a dishwasher, because it could deform and reduce the functionality of the packaging.

How should I correctly clean and disinfect this PET bottle before further use?

First rinse the bottle with warm (not boiling) water and a mild cleaning agent suitable for hand washing to remove residues of the original product. Then rinse it repeatedly with clean water so that no detergent residues remain. After mechanical cleaning, the packaging must be disinfected – we recommend using a suitable alcohol-based disinfectant, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Spread the alcohol evenly over the inner and outer surface and let it evaporate. Do not use a dishwasher or boiling in water, because high temperatures can deform PET plastic and compromise the tightness of the neck or thread.

Is this PET bottle suitable for very hot or sterile fillings?

The PET plastic bottle is not intended for filling with very hot or freshly sterilized fillings with a high temperature, because PET material softens under the influence of heat and can deform. It is recommended to fill only when the product has reached a safe lukewarm to room temperature at which no shape changes of the packaging or deterioration of tightness occur. If you need to work with very hot or sterile fillings, consider another type of packaging intended for higher temperatures. For any formulation, it is advisable to first test the behaviour of the packaging and closure in a small amount under real conditions of use.

How should I correctly recycle this plastic bottle if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste sorting rules. The packaging is made of PET plastic, which is usually sorted into a container intended for plastic waste. Before placing it in sorted collection, it is advisable to empty the bottle and remove product residues as much as possible by rinsing, to facilitate the recycling process. The closure and possible dispensing components may be made of a different type of plastic than the bottle itself, so follow the material symbols and sorting recommendations in your country. If the packaging has a recycling symbol for a specific type of plastic on the label or in the product parameters, we recommend following this information and placing it into the corresponding collection fraction.
